Last time I was on the water in my boat got caught in a small storm it rolled in quick and I had no were to go seemed it was chasing me and the lighting was popping all around striking the water had me to the point were i was just trying to stay low while driving my 14 ft boat with a 40 hp motor an I was like im going to get hit any second was very intense little storm for sure I was done for finally made it to a small bridge with little clearance anyway never seen that bridge before but it was heaven sent man last time ill stay on the water if I see a storm coming not worth the risk of being struck I promise you really was someone looking out !!

I have a low pro fathom 300 size, love it. I went with a Lexa 400 because it holds 300 yrds 40 lb braid, but does have less drag.

Man.. this reminds me of when I got caught in a storm a few years ago. I was rabbit hunting at least 4 miles away from my house. I was in the middle of an old field kicking at some bushes. A supercell developed a few miles away coming towards me. Then a tree gets hit by lightning a couple hundred yards away on the edge of the field. It knocked me to my ass, I thought I got struck. I got up and just found a low spot in that field and sat for 30 or so minutes. One of the worst storms I’ve been through and I was in an open field.

You saw the storm coming and chose to stay. Your fault

Great advice brother, what jig head and paddle tail do you use?
@samroot2 ай бұрын
I'm using the bkk or fusion jig heads. They have stout hooks for big fish. Paddle tail , I like anything white, they seem to like that color. Very universal.

These hooks are the bomb. Yes they do increase you HOOK-UP percentage greatly when using 50lb braid and a heavy - fast action rod.

Very bony and not consider good for eating. I do hear some places do eat them but they are definitely not preferred for eating.
