I read a review that suggested using 91% alcohol in a shot glass full of pellets to soak for 5 minutes. Poor the alcohol off and then add them to the tube and light with a normal lighter. Allow to burn for 10 minutes. Blow the flame out and put it in the smoker. Tried it today in my pit boss vertical smoker and it worked perfectly. had a good long smoke. I will also be sure to try your suggestion. It is a good idea. Thanks for the video.

You need to show when the pellet grill is running, whenever I try using the tube for extra smoke as soon as the fan kicks on the tube goes out.

Cold smoke ONLY for 4 hours is gonna give u a nice light smoke flavor. 6h cold smoke will give u a medium smoke flavor. If u add a hot smoker on top of that you are getting Camp Fire taste real fast.

Smoked my first brisket in traeger 780 yesterday. I don’t have super smoke function so, I Put one smoke tube in. After ab 2 1/2 hours I noticed a lot of white smoke coming out. I took smoke tube out and let traeger do it’s thing for rest of cook. End result was extremely mild smoke taste. I’m thinking next time I’m gonna leave it in for the full 4 hours. I also used pecan pellets in the tube, very mild wood. Hope this helps 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@davidschannel3594how do you get clean smoke with the tube?
@davidschannel3594
@davidschannel3594 10 ай бұрын
@@whaattheef2169 the way that seems to work the best is a slow burn. Fill up your smoke tube, place it vertically and light the top where the pellets are. I usually use a torch for best results. Get the pellets red hot and let the flame burn for ab 5-10 mins. Blow out the flame give it another 5-10 and put it in your smoker horizontally. Usually this lets the tube burn down slow. Just be careful not to put the tube over the heating element in your smoker. It could reignite.

I had an electric smoker and I gave it to a buddy because I could only get it up to 220 and less than that in the winter. I bought a pellet grill and I'm ready to go buy another electric smoker because the pellet smoker just doesn't add enough smoke flavor for me. Next time I smoke I'm going to add a smoke tube and if I don't like it, it's back to an electric...just a better one than the one I had

It is remarkable for diversity. Meaning you have a grill and a smoker. If I had it to do over, I would have bought a larger smoker because I rarely use the griddle. However, it would be a great purchase if you plan on using the griddle. Overall, it is a great machine; you can smoke two whole racks of ribs or one set of ribs, which pretty much fills the bottom. You could put some items on the top rack. However, it's small. My friend just got the larger PIT BOSS PRO SERIES 1600 WOOD PELLET GRILL, which is fantastic. I've used it several times at his house, teaching him the ways of the Jedi. It is an excellent purchase if you don't have to feed a lot of folks; however, if you need more space, go bigger, cheers.

I will be doing my first cook today, I like the idea of adding smoke tubes to get more smoke. I was worried it wouldn't have enough but from your comments I should expect a smoke ring. I am very confused... (Please NOTE I don't know very much about pellet grills... That is why I'm here... Question to you is... Why are you using a pellet tube smoker, if you're putting it in a Pellet Grill? Why don't you just use the pellet grill? Yes? No?
@Mixwell1983
@Mixwell1983 2 жыл бұрын
Because on a pellet grill on the smoke setting the auger only drops pellets every soo often so it isnt smoking constantly.. since the pellets are the fuel source, the higher the temperature the faster the pellets burn for heat and the less smoke they provide. A smoker tube helps deliver smoke for the whole duration. Pellet grills lack the ability to give a heavy smoke flavor due to them burning very clean and generally fast vs woodchips or chunks.
