That Maco Shark Corvette is a beauty and a beast all in one. Heart and soul, yes, cars used to have that. During the 1970s and into the 1980s that all disappeared. And today all cars look the same. No heart, no soul, pure functionality. Pleasure for the driver while inside, but no pleasure whatsoever from the outside.

What a beast. I love the looks of this car.

What an amazing event!!

I saw a great video where they did a drag race with an original street version GT40, a 2005 GT, and the new 2017GT, and the results were what you might expect, the GT pulled away quickly from the GT40, and the 2017 GT quickly pulled away from the GT. To see three such beautiful American cars all together like that was epic, and then to race them was crazy. The GT40 is worth millions and they still put it on the line. The car could have done much better if it had fresh modern tires, but it has like antique polyply tech tires so it couldn't really put its power to the pavement.

The catch was that it basically was a pimped up Corvette. The Kevlar chassis and that flashy digital dashboard could not fool you.

I was lucky enough to be in a prototype of this car around 1990. My uncle was the chief development engineer at Lotus on this v12 corvette project. He brought up a white one with a red leather interior on a couple of long term road tests from Norfolk to Scotland. It was an absolute beast. Anyway thought I’d share this. I have a couple of pictures of it in my family’s driveway.
