Hey socal, I had a question, which LED break lights are you running? ( if any) Ive seen your videos of LED interior/exterior conversion, however couldn't find any info on LED brake lights, I have 98 w210 and was wondering if you had any knowledge which bulbs work without error
@SoCal210
@SoCal210 2 күн бұрын
Right now there isn’t any good plug and play solutions that are error free. The stuff out there that is “error free” works for a while but the internal resistors burn out. You can wire in your own resistors but that’s not something I want to do. Eventually there will be a good bulb that is plug and play we just have to wait.

THANK YOU for demystifying the names, sizes, and meanings of the abbreviations associated with these wheels. I’ve never been brave enough to buy them on the used market because I’m just not certain what’s what!

Question. .. Has the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center improved over the years? .. The coupe needs a head gasket plus a full refurbished of the Sportline suspension. .. Over the last few years the OEM Sportline suspension components have been sourced from the Fatherland. .. As an over view .... Not sure the MB C.C. is in my needs a go to .... My '98 993 coupe just landed SFO from a year long stay at Porsche AG Zuffenhausen Werk 1. .. About broke... $. Gotta spend time on the Coupe after Frau Schneider (Ingrid) forgot about the M104's temp gauge ... Head gasket boom! .. Later, Cheers P.S. Driving out to LH Cargo SFO with a borrowed RAM diesel pickup ... a rented car trailer gets that old girl home to Colorado.

MB classic center gets their parts supply exactly where the dealer does. It’s all from MB Germany or their distribution center in the states. There’s really no benefit to buying parts from classic center.

I've noticed that the 212 just has perfectly balanced resistance and strut pressure that, at least the ones I've worked on, didn't have a latch at all, it's just up to how far you push it open. Unbelievably nice for speed when needing to do diag or a quick maintenance

the service position is so useful! even some other cars besides Mercedes have it, our old Honda Accord for example has a prop rod with a regular and service position notch in the hood you can use. although with a prop rod, you still have to work around it or risk getting eaten by your vehicle.

Yeah Mercedes thought of that because of how unreliable and shitty their cars are. They know youll be working under the hood alot

I own a 2001 e240 silver on grey interior with 50k on the clock. Drives like a dream and I have done a test drive with a 2022 e class at the dealer. New one not worth the money but you have to maintain it well and I have done a few things and I don’t spare a dime to replace with original parts. Future classic understated luxury with lots of hidden luxury features.

So I’m thinking if the cooling system is already in good working order and is fairly new. Installing the resister only may do the trick. Your thoughts??
@SoCal210
@SoCal210 11 күн бұрын
I would highly recommend doing the thermostat as well. It’s what allows the cooling system to be able to get cool. My friend did just the thermostat on his 1995 E320 wagon and it helped tremendously. The resistor would allow for the electric fans to kick on sooner when you are sitting still. The fan clutch helps when the engine is revving up. Anything is better than nothing so I would prioritize it as thermostat, resistor, fan clutch if you don’t do all three.

Same here. For my MKIV Jetta, I ran Bilstein coilvers. It was cool that I was able to dial in the ride height and all and get that super slammed look, but for me, it was just too harsh of a ride. You could feel every little bump on the road and it was a CV-joint-bearing-overhaul job just waiting to happen because the car had so little suspension travel. So now for my Audi A4, I went with H&R Sport Springs and am liking it better. Yes a tad bit firmer than stock, but much more forgiving and I was still able to achieve a one-finger tire-fender gap so it still has a good lowered look. Thats a nice clean Merc btw.
