I'm seriously torn between the inner portion being black and the raised portion being black. I like both styles. Yours look great!

What do you think about the wear and tear of tearing down the airbrush? And do you think it is needed after every use or just once in awhile? Thank you.

Nice tutorial! Have you tried a product called glossy accents? I believe that it works better to create that dome-like effect for the tokens and it cures more quickly. It self levels very well too. If you haven’t tried it, give it a shot.

I would add just one more advice.... to the tip #4 write the whole proccess in a paper or a spreadsheet in drive. It really helps to not oversaturate your brains reminding i.e. what step or what color you need to apply.

I tried to paint my templates as you showed it here with exactly the same colors. Everything looked great until I used the green and brown panelimer on the first template. It wasnt translucent at all and covered the template with brownish-grey coat and all the stippling work was lost. What did I wromg? Did you thin the paneliner down before applying?

Yeah I'm having this really strange issue with my Infinity where I'm getting backlog despite the nozzle being tightened up, the air channel is clear so I'm kind of trouble shooting it, all the o rings and seals are fine. The strangest thing is that slightly loosening the nozzle allows some air to come through, but it still is blasting out of the cup and the air pressure is weak.
@chimalaia3 ай бұрын
I'm having the same issue. did you manage to solve?

Hi Jonathan! I have 2 littles questions: - can you tell me which brush you use? - I never make glaze with my airbrush, what is the part between water/paint? Thanks a lot!!!
@JohnathanHo8 ай бұрын
I use a Raphael 8404 and Da Vinci Series 10, usually size 1 and 2. The dilution really varies depending on the color (specific to the paint/brand, as well as the intensity I want). I honestly just eyeball it, and experiment. A lot of it comes down to experience with the paint
@user-lh7cw7xk4s8 ай бұрын
Brilliant work!! Do you have any tips though as I’ve tried to replicate this using an airbrush and the colours are much more desaturated than in the video. Also the blood red appears more orange in real life. Am I doing something wrong?
@JohnathanHo8 ай бұрын
So I would avoid using the airbrush for the top half of the highlights. I find the finish of airbrushing the colors is very different from hand painting them, where you get a much more intense, opaque finish.

Where did you get your helmet from? Is that one of Red Warden Miniatures' primaris heads?
@JohnathanHo8 ай бұрын
Correct. cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/blood-angels-intercessor-helmets It's their BA Prime helmets, which are "Technically" for Intercessors, but they work just as well for the Firstborn and Horus Heresy armors as well.
@ProfessorOfPoorTaste8 ай бұрын
@@JohnathanHo How close are his heads to the official models? I've been looking at some for my own minis, but nobody ever seems to have comparison pics for 3D prints vs official stuff.
