This and the introduction of the newest BBC2 idents reminds me of the episode of mocumentary W1A and the proposed re-branding of BBC2 with ridiculous suggestions including two vertical lines. A lot of this seems to be re-branding for re-brandings sake with no added value to viewers. The same as I'm not keen on Freely the platform that will eventually replace Freeview as you will need an Internet connection to access it adding more cost to households and potentially isolating parts of society.
