Lifeguard here. That’s actually called a puddle jumper and they are U.S. Coast Guard approved, made out of the same material as a life jacket, and a great alternative to the traditional water wings that do deflate and don’t have a front piece or a buckle. Many pools won’t allow traditional water wings, but puddle jumpers are allowed. While it is dangerous for a (young) non-swimmers to jump in unattended without a life jacket, they are generally designed to keep the person upright and aren’t quite designed for learning how to swim.

Any cut could lead to an infection and he has just told you that’s not a good idea. a cut it off at this point because it said how to clean a wound, but it would be better to put something antibacterial on after you have cleaned the wound and not hand sanitizer because it has damaging ingredients in it as well as germ killing ones.

@@oolala53 Well, I definitely prefer to use antibacterial materials where possible, poverty's a bitch sometimes. And I more meant cut that I know have been exposed to something that could increase the chances of an infection, like dirt

I had run out of antibiotic salve when I got two cuts gardening. I washed with soap and water and bandaged, but they got more painful. After I cleaned the wound again and soaked it in salt water, I applied ab bandage this time with an antibiotic salve and the pain started to subside within about 15 minutes. I was pretty amazed.

I prefer soap and water but if I don't have ready access to it, few do better than isopropyl. 70% is best for that but 91% still works if you're really desperate.

I usually just use an antibacterial hand soap for most injuries but I do use peroxide for when I have an infected ingrown nail. Not actually sure if it’s the right thing to do or not but I figure it can get down in there better than I can with just soap and water. Seems to work.
@oolala53
@oolala53 Ай бұрын
I’m not sure what you mean by it works, but it is not recommended anymore. It actually makes it harder for the tissue to heal. It doesn’t mean it won’t heal, but it would be better to use soap and water.
@ninjatreefrog9346
@ninjatreefrog9346 Ай бұрын
@@oolala53 Just that. It works. I get ingrown nails so often it's not financially viable to go to the doctor every time but because I don't have 100% new, sterile tools or I don't fully get the nail out the first time they often get infected. At that point soap and water don't seem sufficient but a combination of peroxide, followed by soap and water, and an antibiotic ointment always clears them up. May take a while but it works.

Does Dr. Bais remember when she told me that ADHD is a “superpower” I’m using wrong, that “most physicians have ADHD, that’s how we pull 30-hour shifts” (wildly untrue), and demanded that I look at her when she’s speaking while I was sobbing and too scared to maintain eye contact with a doctor who was barking at me and making me cry? Remember the wild assumptions you made about my life, that it’s wrong to be “reliant” on the drugs I need to function - something I’m sure she’d never say to someone with a physical illness? Dr. Bais, you destroyed my faith in Hackensack Meridian and the entire medical system with one appointment. No one in a professional role has ever talked down on me like that, something you were all too comfortable to do once we were alone in your office. I’ve seen another comment on your dismissiveness towards ADHD patients as well. I relive this humiliation on a daily basis. Every time I struggle with my mental health, I think about my humiliation at your hands, letting me believe that my unmedicated shortcomings are solely my fault. Shame on you. How DARE you. I hope someone treats you the way you treated me someday.

Hello...I was referred by Liesha Getson, my thermogram technician. I am wondering if you support holistic methods. I am currently using bio-identical hormones prescribed by my thermogram doctor (Dr. Phillip Getson) after my hysterectomy 2 years ago. I live in Ocean Grove and would like a local doctor to help monitor my bio-identicals so that I am certain to be hormonally balanced.
