Dude! You totally got off track from something VERY important. The most recent model appears to to have a totally different motor. That means all the previous reviews of this generator's reliability and performance are now questionable! The heck with your 'tri-fuel" crap.

If buying the NG and LP kit, do you have a video on how to connect the fitting to the gas meter? I also wasn't clear on what size the quick connect for the gas meter needs to be and if thats included in the kit and then just needs to be attached to the gas meter. I saw a shut off value on the gas meter in this video too. Does your kit come with everything needed for the gas meter set up ?

If someone wants fuel injection, they can look at Honda's range, specifically the new 3200 and the 7000. Also, yes, fuel injection is more complex but it has a few advantages: One is fuel economy as it uses less fuel than carbureted systems and two, fewer issues with crappy fuel than with a carbureted system and three, overall emissions are lower. That said, you don't have the option to burn LPG or NG. I guarantee you the Honda system would be more reliable than the clones like the Predator. Reason? Honda has been producing and working with engines more than anyone else on the planet. Yes, the parts can be expensive, but they are also built to a higher grade than others. This is the reason I would buy a Honda over anyone else on the market if I had the CA$5000 to get an EU7000is.

Sorry to be picky but it isn't SA it's CSA which stands for "Canadian Standards Association." I'm Canadian and its our standards body for various things made for the Canadian market (and in this case, with the "us" on the right side also makes it tested to whatever American standards they are as well).

eBay sells a regulator with a prime button for around $50 to $60. It worked out great being able to run off my 1,000 LP tank while tapping off the second regulator outlet with a T connection that is attached to the outside of my house. I purchased the 039-122 Regulator For Briggs & Stratton Propane Natural Gas Generator 193291GS comes with a prime button. Works just fine for me. No adjustments needed.

Difference between me and buying random parts online is that I actually go out of my way to adjust the fuel settings using a 5 gas analyzer. That way I know that the air to fuel ratio is set correctly exactly how I want it and the engine won’t get damaged due to being overly rich, thus causing the combustion temperature to rise more than it should. Those Chinese demand regulators don’t do a good job holding constant duel flow according to the 5 gas analyzer. The readings jumped all over the place even though the engine seemed to be running ok. I’m very particular with how I set my kits and how they are built. I’m the only company to advertise no fuel adjustments needed upon install. That’s because I set them accordingly with proper measuring equipment, same equipment used in smog stations. There are a lot of fake 039-122 regulators floating around eBay and Amazon. I buy mine directly from the supplier. For the average DIY guy this won’t matter. But for a company selling thousands of kits a year, I don’t want the liability and would rather do it the right way.

Three questions... 1. Do you have a connector for connecting directly to an RV propane quick connect hookup (like most travel trailers and 5th wheels have)? 2. What if I decide that I wanted to switch back to regular gasoline? Can I leave the kit connected (propane disconnected) and run gasoline again? 3. What's the runtime on a 20lb propane bottle? Just curious if you've mapped out an "average" for the runtime on a bottle of propane.
@GrenergyTriFuel
@GrenergyTriFuel 7 күн бұрын
1.) yes we do. 2.) there is no need to remove the kit when running gasoline again. I made it work with everything still functional. 3.) average is 18-20hrs under 25% load.

Thanks for your support. Usually after break in the metal shavings will be less and less and if anything the magnetic dipstick will pickup the rest. But sure folks rather just drain the tank. But if you constantly get large amounts of metal shavings, then there is something bigger to worry about. As for military, I have not served but I'm around several friends who have served the military and may have picked up some of their habits and mannerisms. I have a lot of respect for them indefinitely. Also, turtles on logs are the best.

You can actually run those items you said it couldn't. You have to do so with some manual and selective breaker management. It may not run everything all at the same time but in an emergency situation, you might not need that. Just be a bit more selective on what you operate and for how long.

You sir are correct. I got out of a company who replaced all of their highly experienced senior employees, over new collage graduates to shave down on costs. This CEO had no idea that hands on experience beats book smarts any day of the week. Problem was these "college kids" think they know it all. To my predicament, that department went downhill real fast after a year and the CEO got ousted. Rather than save money, they've lost money. Now its going to take years to rebuild that department back to where it was before. Real stupid.

11:50 More importantly, if you arrive at a gas station while there is a tanker off-loading fuel, LEAVE and do not get any gas there. That tanker offload is churning up all the fuel, water and sediment sitting at the bottom of the underground tank and there is then an increased possibility that fuel could then be pumped into your vehicle. Just leave and come back much later or use another gas station.
@GrenergyTriFuel
@GrenergyTriFuel 12 күн бұрын
I heard about that before, its more common in states that are at sea level where the water table is high. If the gas station did not up keep their equipment, water can seep into the underground fuel tanks.
@GNX157
@GNX157 12 күн бұрын
@@GrenergyTriFuel The fuel pick up is away from the bottom but if they don’t “stick” the tanks with the paste, they won’t know how much water is at the bottom, if it’s below acceptable limits, but if there’s any appreciable amount it can be churned up by the tanker making a fuel drop, which can then be taken up by the pump.

Appreciate all your answers here in the comment section. Let me ask you one more question: Is there a way wo verify that the air/fuel ratio with the propane is set properly? Would hate so see waste on propane/efficiency and or risk damage to the engine with a too lean mixture - if too lean (and heat) even applies to propane...

Good question, I already do that with a 5 gas analyzer. We test our engines at a facility and “dyno” them with the proper equipment. That’s the only way we do these kits correctly. No one else does them except for Genconnex.

In case one would also fit a remote shutoff circuit to the generator: Would this be OK with propane, will the delivery system (with the lack of vacuum) stop propane flow, or is it a must to turn off the propane source all the time? By the way: the kit seems great!
@GrenergyTriFuel
@GrenergyTriFuel 28 күн бұрын
For safety it’s better to shut off the propane. For remote start you can add self priming on to the demand regulator to do so. I’ve had customers do this but I don’t sell any of those components, it’s beyond what I do.

@@GrenergyTriFuel If I understand this correct, the regulator _should_ turn of any and all gas flow, but if one relies on that, there is no safety net, so not advisable. Can you provide a link to an example "self priming" addon. At this point I can't comprehend how this would make the need for closing the valve on the bottle obsolete, but then I am just researching this entire topic :-)
