I read that the cover photo was part of a series of dada-ish concepts the photographer had cooked up for the boys, the one I remember specifically mentioned is a photo of them hammering nails into each other's heads. I personally think that would have made a hilarious album cover. As for the album itself, it's great to hear these alternate mixes again after many years. Its worth noting that for much of their history the Beatles considered their mono mixes to be the "real" ones with stereo as an afterthought (and the so-called "mock stereo" mixes often done without their involvement at all).

So someone at Capitol saw that cover and said OK! Kind of hard to believe.

Of course, it's just another short Capitol album to stretch out the material and make more money for the record company. (Great) tracks "butchered" from Help!, Rubber Soul, Revolver and the WCWIO/DT single. It must have been particularly annoying for the band, given that they were always very conscious that kids had little money to spend (hence they also made sure that the b-sides of their singles were not just the throw away tracks that lots of bands put out).

It's not a the original alb 7:14 um cover of the USA version. Not a fan of this is one; pretty creepy.. This was a fabulous album. ❤
