I have heard that for indy writers, you will need 20-30 books before you start doing well. I haven't had great luck with KDP, but I only have a couple books.

Rules are rules, but it is a little harsh to terminate the account instead of rectifying the issue. Shame on you for not being more compassionate. And, Amazon would not get sued. There would be a Cease and Desist letter sent first with the opportunity to fix the problem.

I believe 8K is in revenue and not profit. Because you also have to spend money on ads.

I'd like to try my hand at notebooks, journals (some with prompts some without) and puzzle books but I'm wondering, should I have 3 different stores - one for each type of book - or 1 store that encompasses all three types? What's are your thoughts?

I have made around 10 low content journals and recipe books. I’ve sold a few to friends but haven’t made much. Could it be my covers? Or is it that I’m not creating the latest hottest themes?

I’m in Australia and have recently started KDP. I love this videos as I love everything about notebooks! I’m just wondering if it’s just me that has warning signs coming up in my account about payments not being compatible and therefore payments would be wired, with a fee. I’m wondering if there’s a particular bank account that would be more KDP friendly here? I am still waiting for my first sale so I’d like to sort it out but don’t know what to do.

I was told that you couldn't use the same exact interior with different colored covers. I'm not sure why that would be a problem, but I was told it could get your account banned on Amazon. Has that changed? Or was I told wrong? Because I had ideas to do something like the flower design in different colors for the same exact book interior. I was told the interior would have to be tweaked so that no two would be alike. *shrugs* Which doesn't make sense, since it's a popular thing to do. Why would Amazon be against it when so many publishing companies have done it for years and years. Why turn your nose up at something that isn't broke?

The only way you can make money with simple notebook KDP is by making tutorials like this. Not the books. hahahahahahahaha.

Hi Caroline, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge here. I started my journey 2 years ago and after I made spelling changes on my books' description, KDP terminated my account. After around 2 years, out of blue, they decided to reinstate my account last month and I started receiving sales from only 10 notebooks I posted that time. I've decided to start over and continue growing in KDP. So, back to your channel again !

This channel is quickly turning into another "Get-Rich-Quick" type - low on content, and high on hype. I have learned so much from some of the old videos. Hope you get back to providing real value, not some surface level content.

I have almost 30 books published now, coloring books, activity books, journals etc. I’ve yet to get any movement other than friends and family. I’ve posted them on FB, Instagram, made tiktok videos and I’ve yet to get any traction. Don’t get me wrong I love it, it’s such a creative outlet for me but it is very disheartening to keep plugging along with zero traction.

Have the paper choices and quality improved in recent years? I’d love to know. In the past the interior paper used at KDP was very lightweight and not very sturdy for writing or coloring on.

Hi Caroline! I love your videos! I wanted to do Word Search books like the 4000 words. So I made my list, but using Book Bolt, they will only let you use 20 words per puzzle. The top seller is using 40 words per puzzle. The Instant Puzzle Generator would only accommodate so many words. Then I thought, well, I will break them up into a bundle, but I just heard you say Amazon won't let you bundle? Any advice? The next step would be outsourcing to someone on Fiverr or Upwork to create the whole book, which I don't really want to do.

The generator links don't show anything. There's no follow through. Was this a time limited offer?

Hi in the graph paper composition, how do they do the copyrighted material?

One problem with KDP composition notebooks is that they don't have the sewn binding of popular composition notebooks like Mead or Oxford, which means they don't lie as flat and are not as comfortable to write in as the Mead and Oxford notebooks are. I've started researching this niche myself, and I noticed that some parents prefer the sewn binding. I also prefer it for the notebooks for my kids, so I'm a bit conflicted about publishing notebooks even though I have some cute designs already done.

just because you can do this doesn't mean that Amazon KDP will be ok with it, especially since they use automated algorithms to check for duplicate content in books. this strategy runs this risk of running into issues with getting your books blocked and possibly getting your account terminated. i think you already know this so i'm surprised you're recommending this method.

Question: Is there a way to sell kdp books on TikTok without having to order physical copies? Where they can order through a link that redirects them to Amazon purchase? I’ve researched and all I’ve found so far is that you have to order your books in bulk and ship them to TikTok to sell them… really would like to know if there is another way.

It feels like this video, like some of your others, is more about clickbait than offering actionable advice for new publishers. For new publishers trying to build a brand, how are we supposed to achieve visibility without being on the first page? Since 80% of customers don’t go past the first page, and in overcrowded niches with 80k+ books, only sponsored books are visible, it’s nearly impossible to get noticed without a big budget for ads. This video seems more like clickbait than useful advice for those of us starting out. It doesn't address (again as usual) the real challenges new publishers face
