Yeah, I actually really agree with you on him being a Ranger. It makes a ton of sense. I actually created a Hiccup-esque character before, and went with the Ranger. As long as you have the right tool proficiencies, you can get a close approximation of what he does. On the aspect of the dragons, I actually thought about how to introduce HTTYD dragons into D&D. I messed around with the idea of them having their own "classes" and leveling up with their rider. It would allow a game to not have a person have too powerful a companion, while also not making the dragons nerfed to the point of higher levels and them being bad.

@QuatarTarandir6 ай бұрын
I always thought of him as a monk, but I honestly think you're right. With Armorer you can get the hand to hand damage, and his ability to instantly take out enemies with stealth definitely feels like a rogue. And then I feel his rogue subclass would work well with a swashbuckler. I know that's strange, but they often use their Charisma to distract enemies to get sneak attack when just facing one enemy alone, which I think fits. And in a way, I think Spidey may have a high Charisma. Or low Charisma. There's a lot of points for both sides on that, strangely enough, lol
@outofinitiative21946 ай бұрын

@outofinitiative2194 Yeah, I've definitely thought a lot about the different classes characters are. When watching just about anything it comes to mind (and is almost a problem lol). The main thing I do feel is that in the context of LOTR being a game, he could either be a DMPC perhaps, but more likely it would be a higher level character than the others, to help guide the others. Honestly, my whole view of LOTR in D&D or TTRPG context has been shaped by XP to Level 3's videos of the LOTR movies as a D&D campaign, which are both hilarious and some of the best ideas around it in general.
