Most if not all the Sarawakian politicians are guilty. I've no faith in the governance of Malaysia by any politician.

Where has all the billions gone, into the ever deepening pockets of the 'family' and their enablers in the state and central governments. There must be a concerted effort to claw back these ill-gotten plunder eg like the 1MDB, international transfers of this money could also have been fecilated by the creation of Labuan as the financial center as a conduit to transfer this plundered assets.

The Sarawak I knew as a volunteer VSO cadet teacher at St Columba's School Miri in 1965-66 is long gone, destroyed by the greed and corruption of Taib and his cronies, the logging companies and their clients. A very good riddance to Taib himself bur far too late I fear for the downtrodden and abused indigenous peoples of Sarawak, especially the people of the Ulu Baram - the Kayan, Kenya, Kelabit and Barawan and the once free and nomadic Penan.

Sarawak is such a beautiful place. I remember travelling through parts of it by boat, from a small town close to Limbang to the outskirts of Gunung Mulu national park in 2015. Pristine forests. Flying out towards Miri, there were large fields of cut forest and what I assumed was palm oil plantations. Brunei did a really great job at preserving their forests so it was dishearening seeing such devastation just a few tens of kilometers away.

There comes a day when humans with power will have to step down. Bruno Manser Fonds is doing great work to save and help indigenous people and to save the rain forest and get their rights. What is stopping Sarawakians from holding their state government accountable? They use the rainforest to their benefit (ie Rainforest World Music Festival). The greed and corruption of the Taib family and their sycophants in the Sarawak and Malaysian federal governments have all but destroyed the rainforest and their wonderful Orang Ulu communities. Sarawak was wonderfully well governed by the Brookes and the British but has gradually slid into a cesspit of criminality since. I was a volunteer teacher in Sarawak in the 60s and I am thankful that I saw Sarawak before its destruction.

So grateful for you all!

Danke für eure Arbeit. Leider ist vielen Leuten nicht bewusst, bzw. egal wie ineffizient und schädlich diese Wegwerfmöbel sind. Diese "natürlich nachhaltig" Kampagne von Ikea ist blanker Zynismus. Eigentlich könnte ein Möbel einmal gebaut werden, >50 Jahre halten und dabei mehrmals neu abgeschliffen, lackiert oder geölt werden.

Alle wollen "ganzheitlich" und "nachhaltig"! Aber keiner will "VERZICHTEN"!
