In a situation with a power outage I could see this lantern being used as a secondary cooking source. There are many types of stoves that are more efficient than this lantern but to either keep something warm or pre heat water it could have its uses.

Do you have to heat your goats milk to a certain temperature before chilling and consuming, or do you only filter out debris, chill, and drink? Thanks !

"An OK amount" is misleading viewers, as is "fill this up almost half way". You can NOT get an anywhere near accurate count this way. You must accurately weigh 2 grams of feces and add 28 milliliters of flotation solution to that. Look elsewhere for the right way.

My goat just had her first 2 kids today and she rejected them I think because I came out this AM and found them in 2 seperate places (I have free range animals with a Great Pyreenes as guard in about 3 acres fenced) and she was not going to them.. I had to tie her up and she still would not except them.. I think it was because I had dried them (38 degrees this AM) and my scent was on them... I found the afterbirth and gave it to her to eat which she did I then rubbed some of it on them and just like that she started letting them nurse and she licked them for first time.... Thank God it worked give it a try next time you have this problem.... Also some breeds dont mother well.. My goats are miniture fainting goats......... Great video...

Lots of folks will be surprised to learn that there are excellent Refrigerators that operate with a flame driving the refrigeration system rather than Electricity. (I've made a few purchases from Lehman's over several decades. And spent a bunch of time browsing...) You might be able to _"FORCE"_ a little faster heating, but it seems more reasonable to just use as directed, and keep everything safe, not risk cracking the chimney, or warping metal. Actually it can be thought of as a Positive feature that the system does NOT tend to boil, since Overflows would LIKELY crack the glass, and DEFINITELY create a Big FAT MESS. Heating time is very similar to that of the Dietz lantern with a similar set up. _I really like the STURDY Design of this Lamp._

I just saw my goats get born right in front of me! Mama is a first timer, as am I, I got the vet coming tomoro just to check on things. This is what I want to do. I just started milking my Sanaan again this week. Since I am kid sharing I am only milking in the morning. She only had 1 kid this time, so I hope her milk volume increases some since I've started milking her. I got about a quart this morning. Do you think I can substitute this goat cheese for cream cheese in a cheese cake recipe?
@HaywireHomestead
@HaywireHomestead Жыл бұрын
There are recipes for cream cheese it takes a special culture. This one is more like a ricotta.
