@rond1475 thanks for the comment. For sure there's a lot to do here. Depending on where in the NE you moved from I suspect it could be more or less. We've lived here in Orlando since 2000 and moved here specifically because of all the things to do compared to Charleston, SC where we'd spent the first 12 years of marriage. We love the Orlando area, but the heat is brutal. I'm thinking of becoming a bit of a snowbird in my retirement years.

New subscriber: I enjoyed the video a lot. I'm from Martin county and like to get more familiar with the Orlando area so I look forward to more of your videos. I liked your information on public transportation at some of the stops. With traffic the way it is in Florida now we need better ways to get around without a personal car. 🚂🚃🚃🏝

Thanks for the comment. We didn't build a complete backstory, so I'm not sure if she's married, divorced or has any children. No intent was made to imply her marital status. Being a happily married man of 36 years, I am a big fan of the institution of marriage and know the value of a loving family.

The Orlando Solar Bears hockey and Predators Arena football games are a blast to go to. There's also Orlando City soccer and Magic games. The Phillips Center with the recent addition always has something going on. There are many state parks with freshwater springs nearby. The many beaches, Daytona Speedway and Kennedy Space Center are only an hour away. I'd say plenty to do.

Absolutely, 100%. As I stated in the beginning of the video, it was a comment we received on one of our other Orlando videos and we thought it would be fun to do a "contrarian" video. If you look at my other videos we're always talking up Orlando and the surrounding suburbs, sometimes to the point where people think we're just trying to get people to move here. Reality is, people are moving here anyway so our focus is on getting some of those people to use our services to find and win on a great home.

In Orlando, home owners insurance has really gone up. I was paying about $3,600 a year. I got a new roof, fixed all issues, and got new inspections and my insurance went down to $2,800 a year. I live in a 1600 sq ft house near Winter Park. I pay $3,200 per year for property taxes and have had a homesteading exemption since 2016. It's not that cheap. Cassie should get a house in South Carolina near Columbia or Greenville.
@moving-to-orlando-florida
@moving-to-orlando-florida 18 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment. No, Orlando isn't a cheap place to live anymore but costs aren't the only factor when considering lifestyle. As for South Carolina, Columbia is NOT my favorite place. I lived there for a few years in the early 90s and again in 2006. Unless you're a college student, there isn't much to do. Greenville on the other hand is absolutely beautiful, there's a great job market thanks to BMW, Michelin and others. While I never lived there it was always a favorite place to visit. When you decide to pack up and move out of Winter Park, we'd be happy to help you sell that home AND get you a recommendation on a great agent in SC to help you find that dream home!

Depends on how far away you want to get. For sure you can stay somewhat local in places like Deland or Clermont but still be near Orlando. You could move to a much more rural part of Florida, or move to a less expensive state like Tennessee, thought I hear it's getting to be like the new Florida there. I know someone who sold a home in Orlando for close to $400 in a HOA community, picked up a sweet 2BR home in a manufactured home community in North Myrtle Beach SC for UNDER $125,000, put a cool quarter mil. in the bank, got himself a golf cart and is about a mile or less from everything, including the beach, church and restaurants. These communities will soon be the last good option for homeownership, so the time to grab up in these beach communities is NOW. My friend is whistling all the way to the bank and says that it's the smartest move he ever made!

I lived in Orlando for 7 years, I totally agree with what you say. Apart from the parks there is not much to do, the prices of houses, rents and insurance are ridiculous as if it were NYC, LA or Chicago, which are cities with a rich history of diverse ethnicities. In total the houses are basically made of woodframe, stucco, shingles and they want to charge you as if they were houses made of reinforced concrete, I have friends who still live there and have had to look for 2,3 jobs. People in Orlando live locked up in their houses and hardly know their neighbors

Great question and YES, Homeowners insurance can be CRAZY in Florida. Yes, that number is correct for that house. There are many factors that impact HOI, age of roof, wind mitigation standards, windows, etc, etc. As for replacing roofs, they are good for 15 years in general not 7. Here in the greater Orlando area, we don't have it as bad as the coasts do. Thanks for the comment!!

The schools are overcrowded. Plus we have the worst Gov. in the USA. He's a child and a member of the Trump Cult. He picks fights w/ Disney, paying FL taxpayer money to fly TX migrants to Martha's Vineyard & signing orders to make sure bridges are only lit up in red, white & blue (no rainbow colors...he hates the LBGTQ community.)
