For years now I've been feeling a certain sense of dread, an overpowering feeling of fear when I'm alone, in silence. I don't exactly know what it is I'm fretting over but I feel it getting closer and closer each day, something bad is going to happen I don't know what or how it's going to happen but I feel it looming like dark clouds over me. My paranoia has made it so that the slightest feeling of pain causes me to think of it as something worse than it actually is, something that would, eventually, kill me, over time. I'm 24 years old, a devout Christian, and is someone who's been feeling lost and hopeless regarding his future, for the time being, after watching your video, I've been feeling a lot more calm and more accepting of whatever it is that is to come and once this calmness finally wears off hopefully a rewatch will give the same effect and quell my fears once more.

0:23 - there's a difference between "asterisk" and "asterix". One is a French cartoon character, the other is a punctuation mark and they are pronounced differently. And 0:16 - Tropic of "Cancer" ?

The Two Towers ended in a cliffhanger. "Frodo was alive, and had been taken by the enemy!" People eagerly anticipated Return of the King, and were dismayed when it took Tolkien extra time to finish it. He kept quibbling with the appendices. Eventually Tolkien's publishers put their foot down and gave him an ultimatum to call it finished. RotK was published only a year after TTT. If only they knew how bad it could actually get.

I was just talking to my mom about this, I went over to her house. She is a huge fan of Stephen King, has every book ever, I didn't know she actually meant every single one, including Rage. She just up and told me it, the four-piece Bachman collection. I'm currently reading it.

I have seen people tortured in the most horrific ways. Seen their skin being peeled off their faces, their teeth pulled with pliers and their arms and legs cut off while they were verymuch alive. Mostly for reasons that seem utterly off balance with respect to the absurd amount of violence being inflicted on their mind and bodies. No book can ever contain the horrors I have actually seen happen.

Shame that Stephen King turned out to be a low-rent reactionary know-nothing idiot. I liked the world far better before social media let us see what people thought.

In my opinion it’s hard to say whether or not Rage deserved to be taken off of shelves. Yes, it caused shootings (as did many other books), but it also helped people come to terms with certain things.

When my band Bomb (fave of Kurt's) played Lawrence KS at "The Outhouse" all ages club (one-story windowless concrete bunker in the middle of a corn field) in early 90s, the promoter gave us a tour around town the next day. It included ".....and that's the pharmacy where William S. Burroughs gets his methadone."
