Couldn't agree more. The story is unnecessary in a self help book. They key principle of get up early and get stuff done before everyone else is up is a fairly simple one. Self help books don't need a love story to help the principles make sense.

I didn't even finish reading it and I was already looking for reviews to understand if I was the only one feeling weird while reading this book. It was supposed to be a novel but actually we expected a practical manual. It gets you totally distracted by a story and details you don't need, confusing you while it means to be helpful on the purpose of cleaning your thoughts.

I got this book with the amz workbook about mindfulness called 30 Days to Overcome Procrastination by Corin Devaso. I found them both complimentary. I like the Devaso workbook because it's simple and has an exercise for each day, more practical for meditation and mindfulness.

The fictional story plays a role that is more important than most here are realizing. The development of the characters into their new and refined selves takes place slowly, and that is intentional in order to show the importance of small changes over time in order to create one big change.
