I live over the line, In Tennessee and have been to Max Patch many times in all kinds of weather. The first time was when I was in my mid-40s and my wife let me out at Newfound Gap and I headed north toward Damascus. I made it through the GSMNP and on to Davenport Gap. Then I just put my nose to the grindstone and kept climbing. Suddenly, out of the overhanging trail I came into the open....into Max Patch. I cannot describe the joy. I'm 70 now, retired, just had my arthritic left knee replaced last week, July 11th, and am renewing my dream of hiking the whole AT. We shall see how that turns out. I wish you young people all the health, happiness and joy that life can bring. May God be with you and your family in all things at all times. Grant.

Make sure you don't have wood passed the top secondary combustion holes. It won't burn properly due to smoke, soot, and too hot, and too tall of a flame. If the flame is pale, and see through, that's a better flame to cook on. Awesome video, by the way! :)

Full holes, high heat, half holes, medium heat, and zero holes, simmer mode. You can even pull the top secondary combustion holes to the left or right to make a vortex. :)

Egg eaters sometimes earn a stint in the dog crate at my house. They get a higher protein feed like grower or starter for a while. In my experience they quit when they get more protein in their diets. First I usually offer a dish of higher protein feed to the whole flock along with their regular layer pellet and additional oyster shell to see if they will get over it. If they don't stop they get separated. I also noticed they like to pick the eggs that get extra calcium lumps on them, maybe because they see the bumpy spots and get curious, then figure out eggs are tasty when they break them

What do yall do for seating since you removed your couch? Also interested in how you feel it tows. I have a 2022 model with a General XP4 and have top back up at an angle to get around the couch. Have yall thought about pushing the fridge back in order to not damage the fridge door?

Oil, not all

My bet is that for one or two rounds... the axe wins. For one or two hundred... log splitter wins. If you add the time for setup & tear down, the axe will be faster for more rounds. Then there's storage, maintenance, and purchase price of the tools. As much as I love power tools, I'd say that if you're not using firewood for your primary source of heat, the axe is probably better. Cheaper, more reliable, less storage space.

How did you tie the ranger down to keep it from roll forward or back? I have a new 2023 and it does not have a parking brake. It supposedly done by putting it in park. I don't like it but.... So what did you do?

Nice video. We have been fulltime RV traveling for almost 11 years and camp cooking has evolved. Weber baby q, then Green Mountain Davy Crocket, then a Camp Chef Explorer 60x Pro for 7 years and now because we mainly move every week or so we have switched to the single burner Pro30 Camp Chef. BUT are considering another change, maybe a Versatop 2 burner or the Blackstone 2 burner. So, are you still liking the Blackstone?

Fun fact. Size doesn't matter. I have one extra large girl, and she is brutalized by the Cinnamon Queens AND 2 Americana's!! I decided that the Queens need to live separately, they're just too mean, and I'm going to try the Peepers on the 2 Americana's.
