To stop the whistling you can get some garage door trim seal and stuff it between the top and bottom fins on the back. After you get it in between the fins just trim to about 1/2” of the seal sticking out. Stopped my whistling. 16 ft of the stuff worked for 3 applications with some to spare if you mess up the first time like I did.

WELL IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU DON'T HAVE A JEEP, SO WHY ARE YOU GUYS MOUNTING THOSE OVER SIZED LIGHTS LIKE THAT RIGHT OVER YOUR WINDSHIELD AND HOOD??? I HAVE AN GMC ALL TERRAIN WITH EIGHT(8) SETS OF THOSE LIGHTS ONMY TRUCK AND NONE OF THEM SOUND LIKE A UFO OR LIGHT UP MY HOOD OR INTERRIOR...A 34 in CURVED IN MY GRILL, A 24in WHITE/AMBER COMBO IN MY BRUSH GUARD W/2 6in ON THE ENDS, AND A 42in OMBO CURVED MOUNTED ON MY LIGHT BAR BEHIND THE CAB, AND ONE 24in AMBER/WHITE COMBO MOUNTED TO THE REAR AS WELL AS TWO 6in ON THE ENDS!! ALL HOOKED UP TO A BLAZER REMOTE, THAT'S EIGHT SETS OF LIGHTS AND NO HOLES IN MY FIREWALL OR DUMBASS SWITCHES SCREWING UP MY DASH!!! OH YEA, I ALSO LIVE IN THE DESERT SO I USE MY LIGHTS FOR MORE THAN JUST FOR LOOKS!!!!!

I bought a spot and I have the same problem. No matter what kind you get, a roof lightbar sucks to drive with. It's cool for camping or repairs stationary but not practical. I reccomend a good one upfront on the bumper

Hey man great vid. I was wondering if you think that hood glare would be a problem with the combo at night with a red paint job? I've got a 2003 ford ranger and I'm looking to put a light bar on it. Also should I go for a curved or straight light bar?

I wish I watched this video before buying mine. Im having all sorts of issues. Whistling sounds and also some sounds like paper flapping from the passenger side. My light no matter how much you tighten it points downwards when hitting a rough spot on the trail....im about to take it off and be done with it.

do all roof light bars make noise ? I want to install one on my 2016 ram. I love the way they look but dont want I'm necessary noise ?

The wind resistance of the light bar causes a negative effect on your mpg and aerodynamics as well.

Hey man I had the same problem but what I did was angle the bar a little down so it wouldn't whistle easy fix actually no hood glair

guessing the same results for 2000 sonoma? with mine i was told a curved would fit my truck, those i think are combo in general? i have a black truck. or do i need to get the pull bar and like 20 inch bar on that?

so you said you talked to Rigid industries on the problem is the light bar a RDS rigid. ? and did you use Rigid industries roof mounts did you get a new one to fix the problem . thanks

why not paint the hood black with plasti dip, eleminates all glare, even during the daylight. and protects your paint.

Did you put the strips all the way across the light in the fins or just portions of it? I think i'm gonna grab some covers for mine as well!

Too late!!! wish I'd seen this video earlier, ordered the combo. it doesn't reflect back though but it doesn't travel far, it just throws light everywhere. not very useful except that it looks cool. That whistling noise though, phew
