Ordering an ass*ss*nat*on of a political opponent is not an official duty of the office of president, thus not immune. However, it means one administration cannot prosecute a previous administration for its handling of a war.

All the ruling clarified was that if the constitution says that the president has a certain power that he would be immune from prosecution for carrying out that power. For other official acts of the office of the president that aren't specifically called out in the constitution, the president will have assumed immunity. And for unofficial acts, like sending seal team 6 to remove a political opponent as they have said in the media, those have no immunity and can be tried. That is it and the media and dissenting opinion on the ruling have exaggerated this to the extreme to further divide the country.
