As a person who love skz and have then as thwir ult group and actually being a stay i was actually surprised and pretty sad and disappointed by the first thing u said im absolutely not trying to tell that those stays should be not respectful like anyother fans i was surprised because in my experience of being a stay i never met someoene toxic i actually always met nice and funny people online and never had problem whit them and in truly sorry that u had to encounter those people and im really disappointed in those fans...as much as i hate to say this as more tue poparity rises so does the hate and the toxic part of the fandom its true i already heard stories of toxic stays and every time i felt bad and so i felt bad when i heard stories of other fans from other fandoms...like are we really this problematic that we need to bring someone down to get somoene up? OMG THE HYUNA AND DAWN ONE. Like I LOVE LOVE LOVE HYUNA and I think idols should 100% be allowed to date, but I feel like there should still be certain “rules” in place. Dawn was my bias in pentagon and I still listened to his solo music and kind of drifted from the group, but I feel like them announcing the relationship, being kicked out, and promoting all that stuff together did NOTHING for his career. Honestly I felt like it was a little selfish. Again like idols should be able to freely date, they’re people. If we can date why can’t they? But at the same time we can’t ignore something we know won’t change that quickly. Hyuna had nearly a decade (or over?) long career with plenty of die hard fans that would constantly support her. Dawn was two years in and his group just started getting recognition and fame that year. He didn’t have a stable fanbase yet. And of course when you’re just starting to blow up and boom all of a sudden news drops that you’re dating one of the biggest stars it just seems too timed, it seems odd and like a grab for attention. Personally, I obviously don’t think that’s what it was. But I feel like there wasn’t a fair share of lose. Hyuna didn’t have much to lose. She lost her company. That was it. And immediately joined another. She had ten years of hard work and loyal fans behind her. Dawn literally had everything to lose. And that’s why he was always labeled as “Hyuna’s boyfriend” which sucks because he’s actually a VERY talented and gifted artist. If he had more time to garner that loyalty it would’ve been different. And while this is more extreme in kpop, I think this applies to everyone. Like for example me personally, I had no idea who Olivia Rodrigo was and for the longest only knew her as the girl who battled Sabrina carpenter for that off brand 2008 Zac efron. And while I guess it worked in her favor, it’s still a label that’s always hung over her head. And while in America you can make music about battling for a man, it doesn’t work like that in Korea

My biggest unpopular opinion... I dont buy kpop albums simply because I dont consider them proper albums worth my money. The listening experience of kpop albums is no where near the level of artistry and enjoyment of what I consider album worthy, and no pokemon idol photo card is gonna convince me to buy them. In comparison to western artists like The Weeknd, Tyler The Creator, Taylor Swift, Beyonce where their albums not only have hits but feel like a full body of work that is cohesive, I'd rather spend my money on them. I stream kpop and the genre is almost like a campy guilty pleasure, but not worth spending my money on.
