Lots of Sugar Camps out there in Somerset County. I've been there many times at Mt. Davis. My Mom & Dad met in Meyersdale. I have Super 8 film of my Grandparents and Dad climbing the look out tower on Mt. Davis and I've been up it many times since the 1970's.

I planned to finish my 51 with PR- after AK next year. Thought PR would be a state by 2025-2026. Let’s see. Training for Denali in the meantime. Would be awesome if you tried for Denali with me next year, but you need to get Tahoma forst, for sure.

Bud I totally relate! I did the classic out and back, then took the longer loop via the Avalanche Pass/lakes path. The loop makes the cl😮mb a classic NE epic. I wholly recommend the Avalanche😂 to the amount Marcy Trail, down via the VH trail. Hard but classic.

There is so much information in this video!!!! Very impressive, this is the only video on youtube that i can find that talks about the little known Diana Chasma canyon system. Seems like everyone says the Vallis Marineris canyon on Mars is the largest in the Solar System but isn't the Diana Dali Chasma system much longer???? I'm just wondering why the Diana Dali Chasma system is not mention by anybody as the longest canyon system? Am i not correct that it is connected to each other? Interested to know your thought on this.

I don't usually watch many videos longer than thirty minutes, and that is why I haven't checked out your channel yet. Now I understand why they are so long. You pack in two hours' worth of information into a very short time. I will be watching more of your content on weekend mornings. They are just that good! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Scott, @travelingRonman sent me your way. I've been checking into all the channels that met up for the recent PA group hike. I'm K. My wife Ro and I started our channel K&Ro Hiking Happens last year and our current focus is day-hiking the AT state-by-state. We're currently in CT so I was excited to find this little gem on Mt. Fissell in your catalog. We started our CT AT hikes at the MA state line and headed south which immediately took us up and over Bear Mountain, Connecticut highest "peak". In my research I learned that the actual high point is on the shoulder of Mt. Frissell, so it was interesting to see your video on that. I also saw Maksim Outdoors interview of you at the meet up and I believe you mentioned you are looking to hit NY soon, which would be Mt. Marcy. We did Algonquin a few years ago where we had a fantastic view of Marcy, so I can't wait to see your video on that one. We'll be following your adventures for inspiration. Denali? Really? You're a better man than I am! 😊

Thoroughly enjoyable video from start to peak. So much wonderful information about the geologic and cultural history of the Flagstaff area. I was particularly fascinated to find out about that ball court, which I usually associate with Mayans.

I would have to say that high point is about as north and central in the state as you can get, not north west. Great video though👍👍 Also, just wondering if you guys have done a vidoe on the border stones from the hudson to the deleware. Ive often wanted to hike the border and track the stones down but have never gotten around to it. Ill have to look through your videos. Keep up the great work and thank you for all that you do✌👋

The view from the saddle of Humphrey's is one of my favorite's. That area is so cool. I really want to get back to Flagstaff as when I did Humphrey's a couple years ago I only had a few days there. I flew out to Arizona specifically for that I think on a long weekend. Its definitely an area I want to return too. Really great storytelling in this episode.

I keep finding my way back to Flagstaff in my travels. I think I've been there four times now. Such a great area. My most recent visit back in May '21 I did the Humphrey's Peak summit. It's the toughest highpoint I've done so far. I nearly gave up. I may have had a little altitude sickness, though I'm not sure. I was certainly tired and the thin air didn't help. I had stayed in Flagstaff the two nights before, but it's quite a bit lower so not a lot of acclimation. The hardest part was from the saddle to the summit. A lady had passed me toward the beginning of the hike and I saw her again coming back down when I was just past the saddle (she moved quick), and it's still quite a hike past the saddle. She encouraged me to keep going. Lots of false summits made me feel like I was almost there. I believe it took me 9 hours to do, but it was worth it. I need to get into better shape for the other western highpoints, but I think there likely will be some I just can't do.

In the early 2000s I was working at the N. Rim of the Grand Canyon. To celebrate a friends b-day we drove to Flagstaff walked to the top of Humphreys had a beer then drove back into town and got Thai food for dinner. A great day!

That was a very good video. I really enjoyed that. Lot of interesting history and I learned a lot of new things about the past. That explosion of that old mountain would have been unbelievable. The old volcano would have been around 16000 to 17000 feet tall before that incredible eruption. I remember when Mount St Helens erupted when I was 5 years old and we had volcanic ash in Oklahoma City and its around 1500 miles away. Im going to have to go to Humphreys Peak sometime. That would be so much fun to climb. I really enjoyed watching this video. It was very interesting . Nicely done 🙂

Thanks for all your helpful videos. I'm planning on doing six highpoints over a long Labor Day weekend if all goes to plan. LA, FL, AL, SC, GA, and MS in that order. I had initially omitted Florida because it's a bit out of the way from the rest as far as making a loop from Texas for all those, but I figured I could make a short stop at the beaches in Florida as well and knock off another high point that I may not get to in awhile if I don't do it now.
