2 very bad choices - as ex taxi can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, both Toyota and Vauxhall are useless these days without spending more than you would on a Mercedes-Benz E class or Jaguar XF, which I have done both excess of 300k in. Think you may need greater experience or just research a lot better.

This guy does not know what he’s talking about at all! Do NOT listen to him. The Astra has major problems and constantly break down The Mondeo 1.6 diesel engine is the worst engine in the last 20 years. The mx5 has massive issues. Don’t go buy a car of this guys advice.

Old cars were built to last, cars these days are not, its all about companies building them as cheaply as possible and them breaking parts easily so they get more money from the customer. Unfortunately even the top Japanese brands have let themselves go to.

My old Mercedes C240 was working fine and just a few miles short of 300,000 miles when I swapped it for an E320 diesel. That’s now got 168,000 on the clock and I’m planning on keeping it for another 150,000 at least. Both cars very reliable, but I’ve always stuck to regular servicing at the recommended times, and if anything needed fixing, I got it fixed straight away.

Old Volvos. You didn't include them in the list. So... your list has zero credibility. We have tons of old Volvo V70's that have over a million kilometers on the clock here in Scandinavia. And they're getting road salt and all that during the winter.

My brother in Christ, I don't think you know what a bonnet scoop does, it definitely isn't for downforce. I could forgive that, we all learn at some point, but, what you said isn't actually about the car scene getting worse, this is just a list of stuff you don't like. Some of it I agree with, but that doesn't make your opinions the measurement of the UK car scene, you don't have any measurements, just your opinions, which, from what I can tell, hold no value.

not being funny but the situation with pop and bang maps annoys me because like my r34 skyline has got an aftermarket haltech ecu new turbo and piping system and for me to spend multiple thousands and all that I want my genuine anti lag system that comes with my ecu as an option to make power most these mods stemmed from cars that made power back in the day you saw a jdm car start popping and banging you was like oh that cars got power now your local fiesta with a back box delete is screaming down your road doing 30 and then as he goes to make a turn just starts shooting gunshots and its annoying as shit, with hood scopes it used to be cars with top mount intercoolers like the impreza wrx sti's or american v8's with a supercharger for example only applications where it makes sense or in my case my fibre glass nismo functional vents to get hot air out the car so yeah rant over just need to stop people ruining they're cars makes everyone else with the same things on different platforms get put in with them fiestas

Hello! This video has been pushed out the algorithm recently and thought I'd share a message since I am getting a lot more comments!. At the time of making this video, I was still new in the KZfaq process learning how to make videos and although the information in this is true from what I sourced from the auto magazines, I have since updated this video with a PART 2 with more up to date information including Mercs and Volvos etc! Hope you enjoy! Cheers. Edit: Yes some Vauxhalls can do higher miles statistically due to more of them being made per volume. But some can still be questionable.

I had a Mercedes 124 series 300D with 550 000 on the clock and gave it away with a full years MOT on it to make space for my new Van, it still ran like clockwork but it was starting to suffer from mainly cosmetic rust. I think I would have a Mercedes on the list over a Ford or Opel

I thought it was better to buy a FRS and save 20k, turns out buying a 10 year old car has its risks and had to sell it for a 5k lost… now driving a 2024 GR86

@@CarsWithBen it was my first car and I didn't know much about modifications, so I took everything at its surface level (still don't). The car was E85 swapped and sat for nearly a year, I was told this but didn't know about how E85 just turns into water after a while. Rust was everywhere the fuel would touch. The piggyback tune and cat less headers didn't help as well. Had to sell it because I needed a car that I can drive pretty reliably. And a guy who just wanted a fun car to mess around in bought it. So everything from what you said is completely true; both cars are just as fun, but the risk in buying a old used car cannot be understated. Be experienced or have someone experienced with the aftermarket present. It's funny too because I watched a similar video before buying the FRS, and got really hyped about. Then the lack of experience and research got me. So l think that would be a good tip for people looking into the used, especially modified, market.

Fantastic vid, mate. I would suggest examining your mic setup. You NEED a full sized mic/boom stand/ pop filter/shock mount. Doing a small investment in your setup like that will pay off in spades for your channel, you're good at this. Fifine Makes VERY good mics in the $40 range and I've found them to be perfect. My friend has a GT and he loves it. I have an 01' Celica GT-S and an 88's Supra (NA auto lol!) that I have $24K into and if I get her painted, probably $30K. So that's already at the level of MUCH better cars lol, but I love her and it turns heads.

Appreciate the feedback man. I have a RODE mic so I am not sure why it is popping, I invested in it earlier this year so might have to look into setting if it sounds like a pop. Also, big fan of the Celicas but sounds like state side is more expensive than UK. Glad you enjoyed!
