I have 4 KLRs. One I raced it is the worlds fastest KLR. 128.89 MPH FIM world record for single cylinder under 750cc. I did the record in 2019 on the salt flats. The other KLR are just fun I have done 3000 mile trips and will run all day in the twisteys in the hill country of Texas. I own many other bikes but if I could only have one it would be my KLR
@spencervidal31688 күн бұрын
The KLR is an antiquated piece of S#!*. A glorified grocery getter at best, that is over hyped and NOT worth the status.. There are much better bikes for the money out there. My 05 is the worst motorcycle I have owned in my 50 years of motorcycling..
@_ajdoyle_8 күн бұрын
@spencervidal3168 yea I totally get what you mean... I think I'm just loving the nostalgia and the fact I've wanted one for years and allowing that to drive my love for the bike. Definitely better bikes out there alright

So many others owners claim it’s an amazing value and ultra reliable.
@_ajdoyle_7 күн бұрын
@TB7-X they are like tanks, pretty much go forever and can throw them on the ground and they'll still go forever... but it depends on what you want to use the bike for.... you'll never win a race with it but you'll climb a mountain easy 😆
@spencervidal31687 күн бұрын
@@_ajdoyle_ Wrong, they are total pieces of crap. Once you have reached the point of built in obsolescence you will spend a fortune trying to keep the turd on the road. There are MUCH BETTER bikes out there at a similar or better price point. THERE IS NO REASON TO EVEN CONSIDER THE KLR IN THIS DAY AND AGE!!!!
@spencervidal31687 күн бұрын
@@TB7-X I'm betting they have limited experience in the segment. In this day and age with better and similar or even better priced bikes there is no reason to even consider the KLR.. It is a total turd..

I'd like to see Kawasaki add an adventure bike along the lines of a T7 or even a TransAlp. Then maybe go back to making the KLR a real dual sport again. The 2024 KLR is almost 70 lbs heavier and has 1.5 inches less suspension travel than my 2005 - and seems like neither a good dual sport or ADV bike.

To add in, your mods look good. Not dissing your bike at all (I’ve had 2 shadows…vt1100 spirit and vt750 phantom)… but the metic cruisers sometimes have a funny look, usually because of their bulbous stock lights. Your new tail light looks great.

@zigzag2557 honestly they are an easy enough car to work on much like any older car, not too many electronics etc. Also some parts are quite cheap for it as well.
