Sophie Nelisse is clearly proving herself as a very impressive actor. Cortland, thanks for the interview - sharing such an important & relevant film. The real-life Irena showed strength & courage which displayed the significance of the individual in times of incredible challenge and obstacles. A truly human empathetic soul. I can't wait to see this film.

I'm a Dallasite and grew up watching the Von Erichs in the 80s. I'm glad that this film was made 💯%, but the casting of Jeremy Allen White as Kerry Von Erich is one of the most unfortunate castings in American film history to date. Yes, he's a good actor and yes he also looks WAY more like Barry Manilow than Kerry Von Erich. That's just true. There are other quality actors that look way more like Kerry. Hell, Zac looks more like Kerry than Jeremy does. For people with either no or a limited knowledge of their story, thats not going to matter - I get it.. but for us fans, it's truly unbelievable. Rick Flair's casting was way more accurate than Jeremy as Kerry - and that casting was very bad. In saying all that, I'm sure the movie is great and I truly hope it is (I'll be seeing it tomorrow) and it may be great for Von Erich fans as well, if we can somehow overlook a fit Barry Manilow look-alike being the most popular of all the Von Erichs 😂.

You really know your Pro Wrestling. I haven’t seen the movie yet but the reviews so far agree on the portrayal of Ric Flair was a bad choice. The Von Erichs were all about their wholesome image. That is why I still don’t believe the official version of David’s death. When Mike committed suicide that image was all kayfabe and this family was screwed up. Just my opinion and thanks for the review

6 brothers. One died when he was 8 by falling in a pond and a loose wire falling in and electrocuted him. That's why in the trailer in the family photo there is a small photo of a young boy sitting in the lower right corner.

@@BARRELKYOUMA the only thing I heard her say was “female gaze” which could be heard as “female gays”. The female gaze (like how someone sees something) is a feminist film theory that says that the way a director shoots and visually represents a woman can give the character agency. Hence why Fogel didn’t want to show female nudity. The Male gaze is also a concept that she mentioned which could be exploitative and not give a woman agency over her story and body. I don’t think she said the phrase “gay women” in the interview but please direct me to a time stamp and I will correct myself!

I just watched this movie, and I could not put my finger on what was off for me. Mr Pierce being so flat for part of this movie and the choice of a Boston accent. I love the flatness in relation to the android in all of us and that it is only in the explanation of figuring out the complex crime that David comes to life. The accent is tough for me. Boston is difficult ( one actor in the Departed pulled it off and he was born with it) and technically Mr. Pierce was spot on. For me a Boston accent is tied to emotions and it would soften with flatness, wash out. It would grow stronger when animated, so it messed with my head that it was opposite. I enjoyed the movie and the interview.
