I can get on board with this. My hot take is that Empire is a great movie but is the weakest of the first six, whereas the prequels are all fantastic. P.S. the acting is great in the prequels - it's just a deliberate style most people aren't used to.

the snippets i've watched look cool, but it doesn't really look like mid 60s. we'd bicycle down to revere beach outside boston to look at the choppers by the water. a year later i bought my first bike, an indian for a hundred fifty bucks. there were a lot more choppers then... not near so many stock-looking things.

This movie takes me back to the year 1965. At that time, I hung around two brothers (siblings) who built a couple of amazing choppers out of two clapped-out cop bikes. I kept my mouth shut and learned a lot about bikes from those two guys. I also remember Bill Ray (with and without Life magazine) and his b/w photos dealing with the Berdoo Hells Angels and a few other MCs. When I first saw some b/w photos by Danny Lyon, I thought that someone who create a documentary or a drama-rama built around the subjects of those photos. Ride safe.

OBVIOSLY it's about the OUTLAWS MC in the mid 1960's. It's not intended to be like the Goodfellas. This reviewer has no clue. It's about an actual motorcycle club. More truth than fiction.

He’s just making mention of that freeze frame where Benny gets hit in the head by a shovel. I saw the film. Was nothing like Goodfellas.

The Vandals lost its traditions of being a club and became more of a gang when they expanded. The new bikers had different views more extreme than the old-timers. Johnny couldn’t keep up honestly. His way of handling things was like that of the movies where the idea of the club originally came from.

The true fact is the term Outlaw" was taken too seriously back then, and the public freaked as the fake news sensationalized their activity, along with Look Magazine and Hollywood. It grew out from the demons that were projected into this and other clubs.

Okay I'm in! Wasn't sure if it had what it took to be a real biker film. But sounds like it just might. Sounds like it might have a little bit of the Wild One's in it too. So that is always good

Road Warrior # 1 . The first Mad Max was made on the promise of a hint of the smell of a shoestring . A vision , a story , borrowed money , a cast and crew working for peanuts and points . With Road Warrior they had a budget and a guaranteed distributor in the US . Thunderdome is probably the weakest , the script was still being tweaked as it was being shot , the first two were planned shot for shot before the cast were ever summoned . Fury Road is all spectacle and no plot , I have not yet seen Furiosa

FR is a beautiful movie and an amazing technical achievement, but the story is pretty stupid. Also stings a bit that Max is reduced to being Furiosa's sidekick. IMHO the original Mad Max had the best story, and TRW was the best mix of story and spectacle. None of the 4 are bad though.
