There is no secret here. Just how to make a tool from another tool by using three other tools. It would take less time and you'd end up with a better result if you just used a larger wrench. Now the tool that you made is so special that it might never get used again. Besides, who of us has a bicycle chain laying around?

Grab channel locks. Or bigger wrench. Dangling a chain off a wrench isn’t going to help the wrench’s usability in tight spaces. Clever concept. But, I’d advise against. What I would suggest is raiding yard sales and flea markets for used tools to refurbish and pass along.

If you follow this guide you will probably die. Buy a replacement head from any hardware store and safely replace a broken head. I tiny stray wire could kill you. Electrical tape does not take into account high current loads that can heat up the cable and possibly melt the cable. Also you accidentally pull the "repaired" cable and rip off the head, if you don't immediately short and blow your circuit breaker you have live wires stick out of the socket.

You were a small slip away from going to the hospital. Also you would be much better off getting the proper replacement plug and not doing this. But if you have to this would work, but you would be far better off with soldering and heat shrink.
