Its only when a stanford graduate says that on a youtube video, such a point of view matters! When a common person says/does it, they will be labelled as timepass/jobless or even worse, an entrepreneur.

I'm the most experienced worker in my work section. For some of my co workers, this is their second job or third job. Yep, they are all younger than me. So, I've told them, when there's not a lot to do, is to enjoy the time, relax, catch your breath, enjoy the moment. I've even suggested to go outside and walk around. I enjoyed your talk. Thank you 😊

The first two presenters came across as stiff and robotic. Though there are a few useful takeaways about keeping the audience engaged like asking a question or perceiving their posture and level of interest. Most people, especially in academia, don't give a damn if the students are at all interested. They speak and speak and speak...🥲 and believe that they have done a marvellous job if everyone in the class nods their heads. Genuine and sincere communication is based on true confidence, not just knowing where to keep or move your hands.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 🧠 Spontaneous speaking requires practice and engagement to be effective. 🗣 Communication involves small details that can significantly impact how well you convey your message. 🎤 Focus on spontaneous speaking situations, not just planned presentations. 💬 Workshop developed to address student anxieties about cold calls and spontaneous speaking. 😰 Anxiety management is crucial for effective communication; it's common and manageable. 🤝 Communicators must ensure audience comfort to effectively deliver their message. 🌬 Acknowledge and greet anxiety symptoms to prevent spiraling out of control. 💡 Reframe speaking situations as conversations rather than performances to reduce pressure. 🤔 Using questions in presentations can engage the audience and create a conversational atmosphere. 💬 Rhetorical questions and conversational language can make presentations more engaging and relatable. 🗣 Distancing language and formal tone can create barriers; using conversational language can help manage anxiety. 🎯 Being present-oriented rather than focused on future consequences can reduce nervousness during public speaking. 🏃‍♂️ Physical activities like push-ups or walking can help bring speakers into the present moment before presenting. 🎶 Listening to music, counting backward, or saying tongue twisters can help speakers stay present and warm up their voice. 💪 Techniques like greeting anxiety, framing presentations as conversations, and being present-oriented can help manage anxiety. 🎭 Overcoming perfectionism and allowing oneself to make mistakes is essential for effective spontaneous speaking. 🧠 Practice spontaneous speaking by playing interactive games, like pointing at objects and naming them differently. 🤹‍♂️ Train your brain to avoid stockpiling words and patterns to promote genuine and authentic responses. 🚫 Break free from overthinking and perfectionism by daring to be dull in speaking situations. 🔄 Learn to get out of your own way and overcome self-imposed barriers in spontaneous speaking. 🎁 See speaking opportunities as chances for growth and connection, rather than as threats or challenges. 🎭 Engage in interactive activities like exchanging imaginary gifts to practice quick thinking and responses. 🧩 Foster creativity and spontaneity in speaking by embracing unexpected scenarios without fear of making mistakes. 🌟 Embrace opportunities for genuine interaction and communication in speaking situations, rather than focusing on perfection. 🎁 Practice interactive games like imaginary gift giving to enhance spontaneous speaking skills and encourage quick thinking. 🎭 Enjoy the process of spontaneous speaking as a co-creation and opportunity for fun and connection. 🎭 Engage in activities that encourage reframing situations as opportunities for creativity and collaboration. 🔍 Focus on listening and understanding the demands of communication situations before responding, to better serve your audience. 🔠 Utilize structured storytelling methods to enhance both planned and spontaneous speaking situations. 💡 Employ structures like problem-solution-benefit to structure your communication effectively and increase processing fluency. 📞 Remember the value of structure in communication by chunking information to aid memory and clarity in speech delivery. 🎙️ Embrace structured communication methods to enhance persuasion, memory retention, and audience understanding in spontaneous speaking. 🌟 Structure is crucial in communication to keep your audience engaged and on track. 💡 Problem-solution-benefit and what-so what-now what are effective structures for organizing your thoughts in a presentation. 🎯 These structures help in answering questions, introducing people, and selling ideas effectively. 🗣️ In spontaneous speaking situations, you must simultaneously figure out what to say and how to say it. 🔄 Practicing structured communication methods can enhance your ability to respond adeptly in spontaneous speaking scenarios. 🔄 Rehearse strategies to manage anxiety, such as reframing it as a conversation and being present in the moment. 📚 Utilize resources like structured communication techniques and websites for further learning and improvement in speaking skills. 🔥 Addressing hostile situations involves acknowledging emotions, reframing questions, and responding thoughtfully to maintain control of the conversation. 💻 Engage remote audiences by including participation activities like polling questions and collaborative documents. 🎮 Variety and engagement are essential for connecting with remote audiences effectively. 🛡️ When facing hostile questioning, focus on identifying key themes and using paraphrasing to buy time and formulate strategic responses. 👥 Consider the cultural background and expectations of your audience to tailor your communication effectively. 😂 Humor can be a powerful tool for connection but also carries risks; self-deprecating humor is a safer choice. 🤔 When questioning individuals with media training, using the power of "why" and asking for advice can lead to more authentic responses. 🎙️ Effective communication in various settings requires adaptability, understanding audience expectations, and utilizing engagement techniques. 🎭 Interjecting humor in speeches can enhance connection but requires careful consideration of cultural nuances and backup plans. Absolutely love this podcast episode! As a Career and Education Planning Consultant working with high school students, I can't stress enough the significance of diplomatic communication in shaping successful relationships, both personal and professional. Julia Minson and Matt Abrahams brilliantly dissect the art of disagreeing without conflict, shedding light on the paramount importance of tactful and strategic language in navigating nuanced conversations. In my experience, fostering diplomatic skills among students involves emphasizing cultural sensitivity, understanding diverse perspectives, and promoting active listening. I often find that the comprehension-oriented analysis fostered in high school literature classes lays a solid foundation for developing diplomatic language. Encouraging students to speak not only with their voices but also with their ears, by truly understanding and considering the impact of their words on others, is key. As the Turkish proverb aptly puts it, 'A sweet language will make even a snake crawl out of its hole.' Here's to cultivating a generation of effective communicators who can charm even the most challenging situations with their diplomatic prowess!

Dimon has such a BIG HEART for the little ppl. In 2007 2008 his bank gobbled up smaller (distressed?) banks, and his team of best and brightest scoured the fine print of those banks sweetheart credit offers, found that most did NOT preclude acceleration , shortening, of payback period (timeframe). So, all those cards w sweetheart enticing balances shortened payback for say, 10 yrs, to 3 years. Suddenly in 2008, your monthly balance due went from $100/month to $600/month! Lord HELP you, if cash flow was fragile for during that LAST GREAT RECESSION. What a guy! And Greenspan and Larry Sommers were on BoD of Dimons bank.

If govt does not have any control in economy as in capitalistic society, recessesion will definitely come bcos whole economy is unsecured. I feel that corruption is also high in economy where capitalism is the driving force. At the same time, I think that in socialistic economy there is corruption bcos there is heavily controlled economy by govt. Thank you.
