4% is not based on a 12% return. Also you need bonds, it's not calculated based on 100% stock allocation. 12% return is also a bold assumption. I don't recommend taking 4% every year. On good years you take more, put it in cash. On bad years, you can then put the cash back in the market. Because market will alway have good years and bad years. It will not be good all the time.

Two more conversions this year and 2025, some years at 37% tax, some years at 32%. Now the Roth is in 7 figures and the IRA in 6 figures. But what i can't figure out is how much to leave in the IRA so the RMDs (in 7 years, at age 73) are just below the Standard Deduction for Filing Jointly. It's a WAG, a Wild Ass Guess. Depends on so many unknowns, 7 years from now. But my estimate of that WAG amount is around $800,000. What say you?

Raising taxes strips you of power as a citizen. It will shrink the middle class, which is the point, so that there is less influence among that population which is the section of the voting public that is less influenced and more aware what politicians are up to. The increase in business taxes will affect everyone. Business taxes are the big tax lie. They don't pay taxes, they collect them, first from their customers, second from their employees, and third from their investors.

Look at the insane deficit.... it's either paid for by inflation, taxes or debt. The government borrowing sucks out capital from the private sector leaving less for productive investing. Ultimate you pay what your government spends... not wat it taxes.

FYI - Roth 401(K) --- the company match is not taxed. I only learned this recently. If you have $100K in your Roth 401, all the employer contributions and growth are actually considered to be in standard 401 as pre-tax contributions.
