I have the same compressor, the hose and metal disconnect fitting at the compressor end gets extremely hot, like burn skin hot! But the handle is just warm. I’m wondering if you experienced that? I wonder if there’s a restriction or problem with mine?
@sinrumbo110 күн бұрын
I didn't experience that during the test but it is probably normal. The handle is shielded but the fitting is not.

Nice camper I was wondering where did you get it from. I noticed it had a very high rise and I’ve been looking everywhere for one I was wondering if you could share the dimensions of the camper shell and where you got it thank you.
@sinrumbo127 күн бұрын
Hello. Unfortunately this camper shell is made and only available in Argentina (Tronador.ar). It is a commercial model not intended to be used for a camper.

Unfortunately one of the two CR Laurence side windows installed by True North Customs Campers of Calgary has failed six months after install and two weeks into the first trip. We were not able to get warranty either from the vendor / installer nor from CR Laurence in California. We are stuck with an expensive window that no longer opens. Buyer beware!

The side windows are CR Laurence (California) and were installed by True North Custom Campers in Calgary, Canada. The driver side window developed a problem six months after the install and two weeks within the first trip. True North did not help us solve the problem and CRL headoffice did not make any effort in solving the warranty issue either. Even though we love these windows we are very disappointed by the total lack of after sales service from the vendor/installer and from the manufacturer. We are stuck with an expensive but defective window. Buyer beware!

What is the truth about encountering bears while hiking? Is it really a frequent risk? It's such a different fauna for us in the southern hemisphere..
@sinrumbo12 ай бұрын
It is a real concern for sure. We have been on the road for about 3 weeks in Western Canada during our current trip. We have seen 6 bears. So they are around. We have to remember that humans are the ones intruding on their territories. Not the other way around.

The slats lengthen slightly when weight causes the bow to flatten out. Most peope screw the slats down which causes issues. Your method of securing the slats accounts for this and also allows the whole thing to be removed quickly. Thats what i want to do, Thank you for the ideas.

I'm glad you like my solution. I'll see over time how well it works, but it should be fine.

Looks good! Love the cap height. I think the weak point is using the inverter to convert DC power to AC. There's a lot of battery power lost in the conversion. You need a 12v fridge, and the laptop should already use DC through USB. The inverter is nice when you have shore power, but day to day it should be off, IMO. I want to do a similar setup in my 8ft bed Silverado but having a hard time finding a reasonably priced cap that's tall enough. I just got quoted almost $6K USD for an ARE MX series with a bedrug and headliner. Crazy times.
@sinrumbo13 ай бұрын
I went with a house fridge just because 12V fridges here in Argentina are hard to cmoe by and they are also very expensive. All imported electronics is very pricey. But your comment makes sense if you live in North America or Europe.

Some questions: this is a full size bed. With a 55 inch width how far apart are your beams and do you measure the distance between beams from the center point?
@sinrumbo14 ай бұрын
The beams acommodate the two Ikea slats which are exactly 66 cm wide. There is a 1/2" aluminium square between them in the center screwed to the center beam, then another on the sides to keep the slats in place. I started from the rear, as far back as I could then worked my way toward the front knowing that the total bed width is 140 cm or 55". It is easier with all the parts in front of you.
