I have always had a lower heart rate, the lowest I had it medically recorded at was 36bpm after I just had a large coffee. My heart rate was normally 45-55bpm as a child (I was not athletic but skinny). As long as I can remember, I have had moments in the daytime where I audibly gasp for air which is completely out of my control. I never knew this not normal until this morning. I am 38 years old...

My old resmed 10 would draw with heating tube/tank on close to 40 watts and heating off over 20 watts. Resmed 11 drew with heating tube/tank over 20 watts and heating off over 5 watts. I used my allpower battery bank with DC cigarette power cord and after over 10 hours with heat off it had 55% power left looks like resmed 11 is more power efficient than 10.

I love the profile, great face seal and ease of shifting around on the bed. I get a strong constant air stream coming out of the bottom of the mask. Losing 17L/hr. Is this normal? The internal flap seems to be working but the air stream is disconcerting. Is it working as designed? This is my first experience with it. Other masks I’ve used only expel air when you exhale, not constantly like this mask
@RespShop

That seems like an excessive amount of leak. We'd suggest checking your cushion seal at the bottom of the lip. Here's a video showing how to adjust the fit of the Evora Full Face Mask: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l810gruCubzapoU.html Also, the F&P myMask app actually has a good collection of videos on adjusting your mask fit. They just play on a loop so you can just let them run as you're fiddling with your mask.

@RespShop

In-line bacterial filters can be helpful if you have allergies or a cold but like you said, they affect the pressure that you actually receive. If you're going to use them, make sure to change them out according to the manufacturer's recommended frequency or else there's no point in using a filter.

If you know your prescription pressure, you can double check that your CPAP's set up properly. It can take a few days and even weeks to adjust to the pressure too so it might just be you need to give yourself some time. Also, you can try the "soft" response for a more gradual increase in pressure.

I got the 11 to replace the 10 and see very little difference. Water tank is same as 10 when filled just as tricky loading into the machine. Touch screen is no great upgrade because 10 you moved by line and 11 move by screen grouping. Would rather they keep same heating tubing as 10 would also be better of bought extra tubing since big enough investment. Only big change is coming to presser the 10 blow air fast through the hose making a feeling of mask blowing up like a balloon while 11 is very gentle flow and I don't get that mask blow-up feel. Mine came preset with regular hose so ordered heated hose not cheap. Oh and I never had 10 update OS at lest I know

I think you might be confusing your ResMed AirSense 11 with the new ResMed AirCurve 11. The AirCurve 11 bipap function works great. The water chamber is the most poorly designed object since serial Christmas lighting. It is impossible to pour water into that thing anywhere NEAR the line and not spill it over your nightstand. If Moses parted the water in this chamber, it would still spill out the opening. If Jesus were here, he'd turn the water into wine, drink it all, then throw this bipap water chamber into the sea where Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes. After 15 years of CPAP use, over 4 devices with NEVER a problem, I know it's not me. Resmed, you really screwed the pooch on this one.

I think all machines are noisy at the motor level, but they all use some sort of dampening foam inside to cut out the motor noise from being transmitted into the tube and all the way to your head. I find that if I pinch my headgear slightly at the top of my F30i, the noise (and obviously the airflow) is cut in half. Not a solution, but an explanation. Essentially, the motor noise is playing telephone all the way through the tube. I would be happy to buy an muffler, but $30 bucks for a piece of plastic is just nuts.

I use a Snuggel adapter to allow me to use my F30i mask which is the only one I find comfortable to use for therapy on my AirSense. Which mask should I select from the only options offered during the setup of the mini? Also, I bought an adapter to use other standard hose diameters in case I find that my mini hose breaks during travel. Does the Airmini not have a menu to adjust the hose diameter?
@RespShop
@RespShop 17 күн бұрын
Select full face mask for the F30i. The AirMini doesn't have the option to switch between different hose types/diameters since it is designed to only work with the AirMini tubing.

It could be that your settings need some fine-tuning. Is your sleep doctor following your therapy and adjusting your settings? If not, it's a good idea to reach out to them and request closer monitoring. Most of the ASV machines come with remote monitoring so doctors can see how you respond to their changes.

@@RespShop I got a Resmed and the hospital was online and they couldn't set anything up. Totally useless workers. So got a philips that they said they couldn't fix and it's not connected. Had technicians for months help me set it up over the internet. If it is set to breathe at least 15 times a minute, it goes 100% and breathes for me. Have it on 13 times and then I breathe most of the time myself. Preferably exhaustion and muscle weakness and extreme fatigue. Going to bed for a while now. But almost impossible to fall asleep early with a machine. I cover off is the chance to sleep. the water container lasts 7 hours. So I never get to sleep in either. It's too heavy and the machine breathes for me for short breaths. Complained about this for 6 months. Sleep measurement at the hospital didn't work as the mattress was so hard that I couldn't possibly fall asleep. But they measure me awake and then the blood oxygen is down to 91%. But measurement done a long time ago when I slept for 1 hour, it was at 82%. I live in Sweden and one of the worst countries in the western world today from being good.

Virtually every APAP machine reduces the pressure when you exhale and each brand has their own proprietary name for this so you do not really explain the difference between that and wht the BPAP machine is doing to justify the large difference in price.Neither does anybody else I have seen on Google or KZfaq.
