I love the sponge idea. I’m going to plant strawberries and a lot if people say they dry out too fast. I’m going to try this!!!

If you're going to use sponges make sure you put them at the bottom.

For wicking beds you should use a garden mix not soil for wicking action. I just saw these at Menards thinking about getting 6or 8 for my outside garden.

Love apple butter and it’s really good added into your BBQ sauce for BBQ ribs. Adds a whole new layer of flavor and goodness to ribs!

I did this crock.pot apple butter. This is my first time canning anything. So my question in my jar it had some moisture. Taste great. Just concerned.

Cool, thanks. Have seen people make apple in the cock pots but was curious about how to can the stuff. :) One hint about the slow cooker method I think I'll use is doing the 10 hour cook cycle before going to sleep (before you use hand blender the snot out of it).

I love seeing the progress in your garden! I'm going to email you pics of the string trellis we're using on the indeterminate tomatoes this year. So far, so good. It has been miserably hot here too and I either garden early in the morning or after supper. Happy gardening!

Watched your video while eating breakfast and now I’m pumped to go into the garden today. I planted my tomatoes yesterday with the auger I got on sale last year and I love it. My auger is a lot shorter than yours but I was still able to dig a deep enough hole 😊! btw, congratulations on becoming master gardener. I’m sure that was from a while ago but I catching up on videos 😂

Lindsey! I am super stoked that you are getting to plant out in the garden now!! It's going to be beautiful! I started so many seeds and just couldn't make myself drag the boys to the farmer's market to sell any. So now I'm planting these babies at my house, my inlaw's, and my mom's. It's going to be a busy season for me. I'm trying a new to me trellising system for my heirlooms--7ft tposts, electrical conduit, and tomato hangers with twine. I have one section with the usual cattle panel trellis I always use and we'll see which is easier and if it changes the yield. Happy gardening!

That sounds like a super cool trellising option!! You'll have to send me photos of it once the plants take off.

Good morning and we're whatever time you find this I'm very happy I found your channel as I don't see very many women out there of a plus size doing videos and I am in that plus I arrange with you and I appreciate your putting yourself out there for everyone to see I've been trying to hide myself and was afraid of my size that it wouldn't get a lot of attention but you give me encouragement as I watch your videos to put myself out there to start making my videos in my garden and my hobbies again thank you for your channel Your input and hope you feel better soon thank you again have a beautiful day

I winter sowed my sunflowers in a clear tote and they came up beautifully. I'm going to use wire trash cans from the dollar tree as a closh over my small seedlings that might help your squash.

Looks great! Would love to know more info on costs
@GardensbyLindsey
@GardensbyLindsey Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! Here's some cost info: I reused boards from our old deck and the old greenhouse for ALL the lumber, so I didn't need to purchase any wood. I also reused screws from the old deck and greenhouse. I used one of my cattle panels from the garden for the second panel, but I will be repurchasing that to use in the garden as a trellis this summer. Those are around $30 in my area. I bought new plastic. Here's the exact one I bought: a.co/d/7TctZbz The weather seal stuff I used around the door is this, from Lowe's: www.lowes.com/pd/DURA-LIFT-Foam-Garage-Door-Bottom-Weather-Seal-9-ft/5002151557 I also had to buy a new latch for the door, a new hook & eye for inside, a new handle for inside, and a set of hinges for the added window. Total, I'd say I spent under $150 for all of this, BECAUSE I did not have to purchase lumber or cattle panels.

Very nice! I love it! Wish you would have videoed the build process. Would like to know how you secure the panels to the ground. Do you nail to a board? Or is it in the ground? Thank you.
@GardensbyLindsey
@GardensbyLindsey Жыл бұрын
I had planned on filming the building process, but it took us multiple days because of weather and it just didn't happen. The panels are actually secured to the base! I built a square deck base and attached the panels to the edge of that. Clear as mud? I'll be sure to show that part of the greenhouse next time I shoot a video in there!
