16:04 Sounds extra simple, but how many outfalls along the way spill microplastics into lake Michigan?

7:08 the key takehome message IS that plastics recycling is a sham, formulated by the plastics and container industries. It makes absolutely no sense to recycle plastic EXCEPT as pacification for environmentally minded consumers, effectively removing guilt and encouraging greater consumption
@618litterpickin28 күн бұрын
6:01 Are you really telling me that #1PET and #2HDPE have recyclable value but #5PP does not? I think polypropylene is a far superior material to HdPE forsure.

We do not plan to do any further Anishinaabemowin language learning recordings at this time but we do offer Anishinaabemowin classes on Zoom periodically - you can find them when posted at www.mycche.org under events. You may also find the CCHE recording about Anishinaabemowin in the book Firekeeper's Daughter to be interesting - mycche.org/aiovg_videos/family-language-connections-in-the-firekeepers-daughter/

Same as Session 1 - well organized and good computer work. Barbara Nolan spoke of eating fish heads and eyeballs...my wife is from Panama and both of us eat the heads, brains, and eyeballs. Yuck? Nope. I grew up in Wisconsin and we only ate filets...now it's gotta be the whole fish. BTW, Panamanians also point with their lips.

Wow, you really put a good course together here; i.e. using Barb Nolan, Darren Corbiere, and Dan Jones was genius and shows some good video editing on your part. I've been using Rez 91 and Wes Jourdain a lot but yours is very well organized and complete as a unit. Miigwetch.

Same here, My high school Environmental studies teacher took kids who "needed some time" to reconnect( stay out of trouble for a week) on that trip, 55 miles of canoeing camping, portage and all then there we were, at this root beer cabin! soooo good when you really needed it! I'll never forget it. That teacher ended up being a candidate for the teacher in space program that resulted in the unfortunate loss of Christa McCullagh.

Our Outward Bound group stopped in August of 1984. She had a relative there, a girl about our age late teens early 20s from Chicago. The girl said she stayed there in the summer a grand-niece maybe? We had candy and root beer, then cut some wood for her nearby.

The first international trade networks Black slaves from West Africa to grow sugar cane in the Caribbean. Empty wine barrels sent from France back to the West Indies. Treacle (molasses) left over from sugar production distilled into Rum. Rum sent to Canada and traded for Fur. England had the ships and controlled shipping and became an Empire.

People (Native and others) snared a lot of beaver-big loop made from black spruce root-wire from HBC made a big difference there-never heard of nets used to trap beaver. Beaver are so prolific impossible to trap them all-or we would have-just like the bison and whales

Take my advice. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a Chromebook. Its a good idea badly stuffed up in the implementation. It refuses to access any captive portal site. Take your Chronebook into the mall in your lunch hour, and catch up on things? FORGET IT. The stupid thig refuses to show the wifi log on site. You can try tricks like NeverSSL, but they only work sometimes. I am tryping this in a mall in Sydney. I am using the free Apple Store wifi. I CANNOT log inot the mall free wifi. I bought a piece of unusable junk.
