Tomatoes are what got me into it all. They are very forgiving to grow and I’m sure you could shape them if you felt like it. They grow very quickly

4:30 if you throw those shriveled cuttings in a glass of water the will bounce back in 2-3 weeks with roots and foliage. I actually tried this several times with cuttings more far gone and it worked

Thanks I like the drastic cut and how the rewards outweighed the risk. My Japanese holly has a boat load of limbs to choose from maybe this has motivated me to make some drastic cuts.

How does the “sacrificial” branch thick in the trunk
@JboosPlants_Bonsai17 күн бұрын
It essentially acts as a feeder branch to the trunk

where are you from that's it's so hot? Does the heat affect your jades?

The heat doesn’t affect these too bad and I’m keeping them in mostly shade with only a few hours of sun per day

I wish I knew what is wrong with my dwarf jade. It keeps losing leaves. There is some new growth though. I water only after letting it get completely dry. If I water more often, it loses more leaves.
@JboosPlants_Bonsai21 күн бұрын
If there is new growth that is a good sign, if there was leaves falling and the plant wasn’t growing anything that would be more concerning,but do you keep it indoors, what’s your climate like and what kind of soil do you have it in?
@159awi21 күн бұрын
@@JboosPlants_Bonsai I live in the Dallas area. This time of year, temps 100+ so I keep them indoors in a bright window. I'm using regular putting soil but they are in shallow bonsai pots so they dry out fairly quickly.
@JboosPlants_Bonsai20 күн бұрын
@159awi as long as the plant is still growing and isn’t being overwatered it’ll be fine and it seems like you have that under control, sometimes the leaves just fall off maybe there was a point where you did something different and it shocked it, I’m not too sure but keep me updated!
@159awi22 күн бұрын

There might still be hope if you cut the healthy branch and plant it like it’s an offset. I saved some succulents with such emergency amputations. Desert roses are wonderful plants; best of luck!

good luck with the second ginseng ficus, your lucky that one is getting shoots these are hard trees to kill anyway, to avoid sunburn I would suggest that you keep them behind sheer curtains, they will help filtered sunlight, which is what ginseng fiuses want

I've always wanted a monstera, is it easy to take care of?
@JboosPlants_BonsaiАй бұрын
I’d say for the most part yes, I usually water mine every week and a half or so , and keep them right next to a window, they seem to like that pretty well, having the right soil mixture is also important, thanks for the comment!!
@Jon79wАй бұрын
@@JboosPlants_Bonsaimake sure the soil is dry before u water it they like lots of light humid climates and wipe the leaves 🍃 when u can
@JboosPlants_BonsaiАй бұрын
Thanks for the tip! And yeah I always forget to wipe the leaves haha

i have new small plants in the front as border plants I want to grow bushy rather than tall. If I "top" then and prune the new growth from the top will this help the plant get a more rounded shape? Thanks for this video. It was REALLY clear and easy to follow how easy it is to propogate I'm subscribing.

You need better draining soil. And I would of put it in a terracotta pot and one that’s on a smaller side as a plant with little to no roots and a glazed pot it’ll harm the plant rather than help it
