DJ's Deck was, in our opinion, the absolute best fish in Daytona. It was directly across from Our Deck Down Under but closed down early last year. Just our luck. We still like Racings North Turn but got a little aggravated when they run off our favorite band, Then 2 Now 😞We're going back in two weeks to stay at the Max Beach Resort. We spent 30+ years staying at The Catalina Beach Club, but just like a lot of things we love about Daytona, it is closed for a 2 year renovation and it sounds like they may never re-open. We plan on eating at RNT and Giuseppe's Steel City Pizza on Nova Road. I believe they should have gotten a shout out for some of the best hot wings in Daytona. Thanks for the video.

I’m currently visiting Reading in the UK. What kills me about grocery shopping is the extreme lack of variety. The selection of dry spices is limited to maybe 10 different things. Bananas- why are there ever only like 18 sad bananas in a box? Where’s the large display of pretty bananas? Fresh meat seems difficult to find in much variety either. Every store I’ve been to has a very small section of fresh meat. However, there are huge sections dedicated to prepared and chilled foods such as cooked chicken, soups, and meal kits including cooked meat. It’s very difficult to cook meals from fresh ingredients when none of the grocery stores in Reading even sell them.

You should be fine in October getting them a few days before - unless you’re visiting during half term. This year that’s the week of October 27th. Have you seen my video about the mistakes people at the Tower? Not sure if I put it on YT Shorts. But it’s on my TikTok & FB reels!

Flagged for extra screening flying from Amsterdam to New York. Maybe five minutes extra at the gate being screened and swabbed but otherwise no problem. Who knows why I was designated but all in all a fairly easy process.

@Sunny_in_London
@Sunny_in_London 22 күн бұрын
Hello! That’s a tough one because they change every year. However, Fortnum & Mason, Conrad St James and Firmdale Hotels would be the ones I would look at first. Corinthia too! Start looking in mid-November to see what they’re doing this year.

@@Sunny_in_London thank you for responding 🩷. So bookings will start around mid november? Thank you 😊
@Sunny_in_London
@Sunny_in_London 22 күн бұрын
@@Melody-hz6cx usually. Maybe start looking first week of November? I can’t imagine you’d have trouble booking the one you want if you start that early. Another idea is to subscribe to the email list of maybe 5 places you think you’d want to go to.
@Sunny_in_London
@Sunny_in_London 22 күн бұрын
@@Melody-hz6cx also- each year the ‘stars’ vary. So- I can’t predict who would have the coolest ones this year. Have to wait and see what they come up with nearer the time. I think there was a Grinch themed tea bus tour last year. Hope they do it again this year- but that’s just because I love that idea!

Great advice! I was finding it a little overwhelming trying to decide where to go. I have noticed that most places tend to have mayonnaise based sandwiches. I have a strong dislike of mayo and am hoping to try to find an afternoon tea that may have other savory options. I would not want to go to one and waste the sandwiches or not get to enjoy half of the food. Any recommendations on afternoon teas with a less traditional savory portion without mayo?

Wells' book has the creepiest sentences I ever read. One of the Martian ships crashes in London. A crowd gathers to curiously gawk at it. Suddenly a hatch begins to slowly open. This is where Wells writes of the doomed crowd, "There was a general movement backward."

The mall being the road at Buckingham Palace, called is completely different from the word mall as in shopping centre that’s why we say it differently because it’s not the same word but spelt the same. Big Ben is the bell inside and the tower is called the Elizabeth Tower

A lot of these are either very old fashioned or just not really used anymore. Also, England, Britain and UK mean different things. 1. Morning isn't slang. Most people say "alright" which isn't a question. Just a greeting. 2. Quid is plural. It is like saying I am spending a lot of dollar. 3. Smart can also mean painful. 4. Never heard the word "pit" in this context. "Digs" to mean home or house is more widespread. 5. Mufti - Literally never heard this in my entire life. 6. Stand down is a military term. I have only ever heard it in this context. i.e. When I was in the army, we were told to stand down from the operation. Also worth noting each town/area of the UK has regional slang which is way wilder than anything in this video. When you get to Wales or Scotland the language can change completely (Celtic/Gailic).

Love it. I went to USA and witnessed a total boycott of all churches every Sunday in favour of playing Football and Cricket. It was good to see those ancient British genes shining through since they started drinking tea again. Lord knows what might happen if they get hold of a tea pot and actually use boiling water. They might start trying to colonise parts of Africa and Asia. Oh hang on...
