What a rubbish video. Would of been nice to see the actual takedown. This should actually read "lion feeds on hippo head while others play"

Hello Ralph, this healthy hippo was taken down at 5 am. before sunrise. We have the footage after 1 hour. Perhaps u are right on the title. Will keep in mind. However I politely disagree that the video is rubbish. I have not seen a healthy hippo being devoured like this and I have been many times to Mara. Perhaps you have and in such case this may be less interesting for you. I do appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts.

@RalphPhillips-nt7it I wish I had the take down even though we reconfirmed that this was a healthy male who got surrounded. I did get a kill by a young cheetah mom who took down a Thompson's Gazelle whilst her 4 cubs (3 months old) watched. I have pics that I have posted as a small video. It was exhilarating. Back in the mid-80's a friend of mine went to a big circus in Atlanta Georgia, and he bought a pit pass so he could wander around in the back behind the scenes, and he came on some train cars with animals in cages, and he noticed that they had lions and tigers in cages together but that the jaguars were in cages only with other jaguars. My buddy asked the animal keeper why that was and he said if you put a lion or a tiger in a cage with a jaguar it will kill the lion or the tiger.

Actually jagaur is much smaller than lion and tiger and the fear is that it would be killed by Lion or tiger 😅😅
