I don't envy that job. I just replaced seals on basically that same wheel motor on a Gravely. It's made by Hydro-Gear, model HGM-P (or similar). And that kit price is no joke, a lot of money for some O-rings and a few small seals. Mine also leaked out the front like yours, but guess what? All of those little hex bolts on mine were loose. Like, turn them by hand loose! They each had been installed with a little red Loctite which apparently did not hold. And Hydro-Gear in their service manual says the torque speck for them is anywhere from between 45-70 inch-pounds, not terribly helpful. I went with 60. Seems OK so far. Didn't take the output shaft out but did remove the rear plate and replaced those O-rings. Fun times getting it back together (twice) in order to properly time the rear gearset ... first attempt resulted in the wheel motor working backwards from the control lever movements. Hydro-Gear's directions for doing that don't really make much sense, yet somehow in only 2 sentences they managed to confusingly over-complicate it also. Technical writing is an art and they did not master it.

nice mower, lots of thought goes into cutting costs yet keep it real too. spend $6k on a mower the dealer should kick in a shirt, a hat and fill the gas tank, eh! thanks for the vid.

First of all, I want to say that this is the best overview outside of what Wright has put out on the Stander B. Second, I need your advise. I've been looking at these and the new Gravely Pro Stance 36 inch. The Gravely is about $1000 more than the Stander B here in Atlanta. Which one should I go with?
@mow4lessllc4694 жыл бұрын
I have only used wright and john deere i have seen guys with the gravely and they never complained of problems but at the end of the day the wrights to me are built tough and they are meeting the price points with these stander b editions.
