Great info and description of what is going on with the lens and focal point but the best I think is how you use your laser to draw your example. That is awesome and creative.

Do you lower the head of the laser with a controller, some software, or adjusting the laser bed?

Great video. With an electronic lead screw this makes the process a heck of a lot easier.

How do I figure out what tube I will need. My machine looks a lot like yours. Thanks for the video. I'll tell you what's going on. Tonight at the left side of the Tube it started Arching and making a snapping noise. I assume it needs a new tube. Any other Ideas.

I’m at the 3rd mirror. When I pulse I’m getting 2 separate burn holes. Doesn’t matter if it’s close or far from mirror 2. What causes that?

an average multi meter probe will not insulate you properly to 20kv, please be careful before holding things directly touching the 20kv terminal, even if power is off it can still retain enough power for a while to kill you

One thing i would like to add is that you need to find a material on which you can see a defined spot. I used paper before and was never able to see a clear circle mark from the laser beam. Now i am using double sided tape without removing the back cover, and i an see a precise mark that makes adjusting a lot easier.

IF your machine came with a glass tube from China, it is very important to learn and practice this procedure as you will be doing it often!

I came looking for videos and yours was the second one because the first one didn't look right/seemed too easy. But it is the same and you are doing it the difficult way. Check it out: you just cross over the same colour, then get the other 2 and cross them over under the first 2, binding the previous cross in place. repeat. done. Literally the same as you are doing except you are working on both of the same colour at a time.

ALMOST great advice.... Some of it is machine independent. As Goku would say, "what is your power level?" Your advice is only good for the specific power of your laser, so what is it?

Tin foil or aluminium foil saves glue gunk getting on your mirrors. Just stuck it to your tape over the mirror. Then keep adding tape.

1:26, light passed trough lens doesn't CURVE to and beyond the focal point. Actually light doesn't curve at all.

in summary..for this machine..a 38mm lens is good for cutting thin metal for example where you need high power focused in a small area..the longer lens is for making straight cuts in softer and thicker material..in between those two is a good general purpose lens..running tests at various depths allows you to determine the focal pont for fine detail work. Thanks for a great video!

Would you be able to tell me what timing belt that is? Mine broke and I can’t find a replacement anywhere online. I don’t have the measurements. I know it’s 3m and 15mm wide but the length of the closed loop is what I don’t know
