The "remove" button on the extension in chrome is not visible. I also have a "Funny Tool Redirect" Extension, also with the "remove" button hidden. I do not have any unrecognized downloads and I can't change my search engine. A lot of these guides rely on doing steps that is not relevant for me..

Go to the Registry Editor; find the Google folder, then the Chrome folder, then the Installer folder will be under the Chrome one, then just delete the Installer one. Worked for me.
