Me and my dad were watching this game and my dad got really annoyed as he was at the Hillsborough game

I was in the away end. This was caused by Everton fans arriving late to the game and chanting as they came up the stairs, unaware that a silence was taking the place. They were quickly shut up by the rest of the away end but the Sunderland fans took it as a deliberate breaking of the silence, obviously underestimating the solidarity between the two clubs over Hillsborough.

This was when away fans at the stadium of light used to be seated next to the home fans, hence why you can hear it from the right

I'm a Sunderland fan and I was sat next to the Everton fans this game. The Everton fans that started singing were on their way to their seats from the concourse and were probably unaware that the silence was happening which is terrible from them but the majority of Everton fans that were already in the ground didn't do anything wrong and were respectful during the silence. Also I remember straight after the minute silence finished the Everton fans started singing 'Justice for the 96' so don't blame the majority of the Everton fans that were already there just blame the minority that entered the ground during the silence.
