Despite the subpar production, this has become one of my favorite albums from hololive as of recent. AZKi's charm and overall best qualities really shine on this one. Also there are just tons of bangers on here. Also helps that I really like Midnight Song lol.

AZKi black was something truly special. We really haven't gotten something that brooding in hololive until calli went into a darker rock direction with her last EP. My favorite AZKi songs are probably Error (what a goddamn banger), nanawari enemy (the song that introduced me to AZKi back in 2021 and made me instantly fall in love with her music) and of course Inochi which has the ability to make me tear up instantly to this very day. AZKi's voice is just incredible, both very powerful but also vulnerable and incredibly emotional and soft. This video deserves a lot more attention! Edit: I wonder why you jumped over her 4 2022 singles Afterglow, petrichor, canopus and Equal. As far as I know those songs aren't part of any EP or album.

They were technically consolidated into an EP called Pages, which I plan to cover in a video on her EPs in the future.

I've recently discovered and explored Sora's discography for myself and I absolutely fell in love with her music in a way that I did not anticipate. Similar to AZKi's big discography, I think her music is kind of forgotten and underappreciated among hololive fans, especially western ones. You made a brilliant video here, enjoyed every second of it! I'm also looking forward to watching your AZKi videos now, please keep doing these!!! Your channel is the only one I know of that covers hololive music in such a detailed and interesting way. Would love to see you update this and cover her latest EP aswell. Especially Star Star Start mightve become my favorite Sora song now! Edit: the last bit of the video was incredible, great work! 🥲

Love this video! While its not very accessible (talking about modes, inversions & chord extensions when most folks dont know what a triad is 😅) , you do a good job of explaining things. I run into this sort of problem when transcribing music all the time, so this was super interesting from that pov! Good work!!

Well put together. I don't hear the phantom extension...yet. With so many channels analyzing Calli's songwriting, this discourse around the track composition has some untapped but greatly appreciated value. Looking forward to your future dives into other songs from her or Holo in general.

I'm attending Sora's stage of 5th fes, so I've been diving into her discography, and came across this video. I wonder what song she's gonna perform, probably something recent so my guess would be Ke Sera Sora, since she's usually chosen to close the solo part with an upbeat song.

A few thoughts from a classical musician: 1. Harmonic minor is the default mode. Natural is incredibly rare in music. Even melodic minor (which has an interesting quality of sharp VI and VII, but only when the melody is ascending) is more common. 2. Major V chords are always dominant, courtesy of the leading tone. Adding a 7th only makes it more dominanter. 3. Overtones, interferences and imprints are real, and half of the music we hear is in our heads. 4. This song fucking slaps.
