I really appreciate the way in which you have approached disseminating information, your pacing of delivery and the idiosyncratic resonate with me! So I’m very happy to have encounter this channel today after spending time in my own garden, I wonder where in the world your gardening and I could make a guess based on where I think your accent comes from, but that would be a guess nonetheless. I have quite a few members of The rutaceae in my garden, as you already know it’s a family rich in plants with fragrant foliage, flowers and interesting and often edible fruit… This is a plant that I purchased last year as a baby but it didn’t survive the winter and it’s one that I really really really want, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed in the hope that I will encounter it or at least some seeds to grow my own plant. Wishing you well

Hello dear 'fortheloveofwater'. I love Your KZfaq name. Thank You very much for Your comment. Can You please tell me what are my idiosyncrasies? Is the fact that I think that I don't have any prove that I do? :-) About Your rutaceae - do I understand correctly that you are growing citrus? If so - which? That is one of the genus that interest me. It did more before but I run out of space.

@@GardenSvideos dear fellow Gardner, I would assert that you not thinking that you have idiosyncrasies, is probably a humorously coy attempt at seeming self unaware😶‍🌫️😊 Alas, I mean no disrespect of course more than anything you seem endearing and character full, not withstanding quite clearly passionate about art culture. I understood that you have your garden in America but what I wasn’t sure of is where your accent originates from… I thought perhaps Israel or somewhere in Eastern Europe or even somewhere a bit further east Needless to say, your garden is resplendent and the species you have selected appeal to me, I have been looking for shampoo, ginger rhizomes for the longest time here in Portugal, I haven’t really been successful and it seems like all the good distributors and merchants for exotics are located in America and in particular Florida when considering the Western hemisphere. Rutaceae is the larger family in which citrus plants And other members, such as Murraya also. (I only have a. Murraya paniculata specimen, although I really do also want the curry Tree/bush.) If you are willing unable, I would appreciate if we could discuss me maybe purchasing some curry tree seeds from you and shampoo ginger rhizomes… What do you think? I haven’t yet got access to open ground as I’m still making my way through the inequities of being in my early 30s and therefore without the means to afford, so I’m not quite at the same level as you are but I do garden in pots and containers successfully And I am praying that I can give my green family the space that they need to thrive before they outgrow their containers.. I’m wishing you a constructive remainder of the week and I’ll continue enjoying your content :-)

@@fortheloveofwater_ Hello forheloveofwater. Thank You very much for detailed reply (but it does not contain a diagnosis of what specifically are my idiosyncrasies). :-) Oh well. If You are looking for 'shampoo' ginger, I would recommend Etsy.com - sometimes there is a person who is selling it and lives in place from which is possible to navigate rules and regulations of export. There are people on ebay.com who sometimes claim that, but I had bad experiences, so am no longer shopping there. About my ascent - maybe the reason it's hard to identify, because I lived in too many countries. You must be very good in English to be able to detect ascents. I went to Your KZfaq channel page where You have many links to videos of readings of serious literature - all in English. That too makes me feel that You must know English way better than generally people in Your country do, so You must be very good in learning languages or have lived in one of the countries where it is spoken - for long time. About You having love for growing plants more than Your space allows - well - that was my problem. We had plants in pots and moved and moved - each time with more and more pots :-). About You growing Murraya paniculata - it is common hedge plant here, colloquially called 'mock orange'. It's flowers are aromatic, but I never saw this plant bloom as a potted plant yet. I hope I replied on all the points in Your writing. Wishing You health and peace on earth to all of us.

Idiosyncrasies being- The detection of a charismatic lilt A novel prosody and tone of speech/sentence delivery [Which intern supports the illustration in one’s imagination of a personality that is potentially brilliant, a bit of a bright, bright spark, with a plasterer of interest and a fluctuating commitment to attending to all of them with your time ha ha but also with an undeniably apparent, and therefore palpable passion for gardening that far exceeds that of most individuals taken by this fundamentally human practice of collecting an array of specimens and appreciating them within a confined space. This is something that you further proved when you acknowledged my gardening grievances as once having been your own grievances or at least confinements for the lack of open land and how they can interfere with the desire to cultivate plants to their full potential, which intern is to cultivate your own potential as a gardener. or they think that is what I inferred from your response I will take your advice regarding Etsy as a superior location and eBay, because I have also had my own experiences with eBay, and there are lots of people who are selling materials from tropical locations that are dubious to say the least, which could also be the case on occasion with Etsy hence why I thought to attempt asking you directly and that could result in a more reliable chance to get some rhizomes. My orange Jasmine has flowered in its pot before, the first time as it was the first year I had the plant, was last year, September… I’m expecting that it will do the same this year when the temperatures decrease and cooler night temperatures arrive around about mid September And I think it only needs to be slightly cooler night temperatures to initiate the budding process… The stroke of luck that occurred today was that I asked a close friend of mine, whose mother I’ve known has a curry leaf tree in Italy, it’s an incredibly close friend, as I’ve already said, and so it was always something that I knew I could ask her, but didn’t think would be possible to arrange, Following your videos and knowing that I really want to grow this plant as a fermented, I have the orange jasmine growing well, as well as citrus trees in pots, and so I figured, considering that it could be sent to me from Italy as well, that it would grow well over here in Portugal, completing its life cycles/living cycles comfortably in a container. and she agreed to send me a baby plant which she says it often produces in the post. I suppose, as with any venture, assessing one’s resources and opportunities and choosing to Act on the opportunity more times and not results in getting what you want! Whether that’s a garden to cultivate plants in the ground or a curry leaf plant… Ha ha I second your wish for peace on this ass whatever we are, whoever we are and whenever we are… Gardening is one piece of the puzzle where she got piece I believe

I don't see much difference if I prune in the spring (when they bloom and grow most) or in summer (when is hotter and even dryer than in spring). I have (in Celsius) around 25 degrees. In the winter - when is colder and wetter, I not only don't prune but don't even transplant - because it leads to root rot.

@@GardenSvideos Yeah, thanks for sharing it. Food and the way it's grown, produced, harvested, packed, shipped, and sold as product is always an interesting topic. Seeing how an entire tree (more or less) gets processed into a miniscule amount of food can help to put more things into perspective, like the global food production supply chain and how much goes into feeding people. I see hearts of palm at the store all the time, and I didn't know each one (or each couple) was one entire tree. So, so many trees went into filling out that one small bin of vegetables, and this is just one store in one small part of the 5th largest city in the country.

Hello Brad823! Yes it is quite a large tree - I just prune it heavily to allow space for variety. Yes it has aroma of curry powder but the taste is sweet. Under the thin black peel is very soft whitish fruit and one seed. The reason for not harvesting the young leaves for kitchen is to allow the twigs to grow at least 4 feet so they will bloom. It is possible to multiply this tree very easily by root cuttings. About pencil thick root cutting will grow a twig readily when the cut is exposed above the ground. :-) Cheers and thank You very much for undeserved compliment :-) .

I usually start when they are about 2 month old because the seed itself contain some nourishment and I'm afraid to 'burn' the new roots. Is it not possible that your Meyer x Buddha's hand "hybrid" is in fact just a Meyer clone, as if I understand it correctly citrus is prone to apomixis (cells of the mother plant "invade" the young seed during development and the seedling(s) (polyembryony is also common) are just genetic copies of the mother plant). I don't know how that would explain the high proportion of albino F2 offspring though. Do you get the same result (many albino offspring) by selfing your definite Meyer "grandmother" tree?
@GardenSvideos
@GardenSvideos 2 ай бұрын
I don't think so - I think it is a hybrid, because it inherited from Citrus medica: 1. smell 2. ability to root twig cuttings readily and 3. the growth that has no trunk to speak of - just branchess that are 'snake like'.
