Russom records his own solo piano arrangements of popular songs and instrumental pieces from the jazz and swing eras, plus other pop music.
Most of Russom’s 18 self-published albums are based on his research into the life and output of great American songwriters. To date, he has completed albums of songs by Frank Loesser, Jimmy McHugh, Johnny Mercer, Hoagy Carmichael (two volumes), James Van Heusen, Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington (two volumes), Irving Berlin (two volumes), Burton Lane, Harry Warren (two volumes), Jule Styne, Arthur Schwartz (with Howard Dietz), and George and Ira Gershwin.
Note that Russom does not sell his cover albums or other recordings and videos of covers. The point is to enjoy American music, with a focus on helping family, friends, and others discover the national treasure known as the Great American Songbook.
