Zo jammer dat dit geen zinvolle reparatie is het gaat snel weer kapot wat denk je van de lekkages en de milieu vervuiling en niet te vergeten de veiligheid voor de monteurs

Bevel should be bigger for slag to wash out and more surface metal for weld to weld to, but since the repair comes with lifetime warranty guess it dont matter........

WTF just happened?? I don’t even know where to start with this dumpster fire? The .050 runout after STICK WELDING the two halves is a problem. Putting that much heat on a case hardened shaft is a huge problem. Not stress relieving the shaft is a huge problem….The lack of any machining acumen is just glaring.

Lets jump forward to see what happens when this 'master repair' is put to use. Common sense should tell us that a patch is never as good as the solid original.
@gregc15207 ай бұрын
If that is a master mechanic, I never want to see what a butcher does. The center bearing surface and gear are so far off the centerline they should quit. If that was done in the middle of the desert to make it to a repair shop i understand, not as a finish repair,

Not bad, this is pretty close to what I would do for such a repair, though as someone on another channel mentioned, I would have used splines or keyways... Heat treating the repaired part may be necesary, but other than that, very nicely done!

Pitting from head bolt to water jacket is still present. Pitting from water jacket to combustion chamber will be burned through in no time as there are two places with half of normal separation

To give this a fighting chance, I would have drilled and tapped four spots around the part line to ad tough bolts, and made a larger weld, I would still only expect it to last a few days till a new part arrived.

What a joke

Don’t you understand that you can’t knock on the machine chuck, there’s a bearing there, you can do it with a sledgehammer somewhere on the floor. Don’t you understand that when you use electric welding, this cannot be done in a machine, the current flows through the gearbox and bearings. I can’t look at this, my teeth are just itching. when you are welding, is it really so difficult to wrap a part of the part with any rag so that the splashes do not fly onto the gear. You point your finger “oh good job”, no it’s just crap!

No digital tooling, not even dial gauge callipers - these people are definitely doing it the "Traditional Way" simple, effective, and requiring a good degree of skill.
