This situation is almost exactly like the case with the exception of opioid dosage. Often I ran out of pain medication before I was due to get a prescription refill. Withdrawal is seriously debilitating.

Patients will definitely see a giant needle when they are inserting a CGM. However the needle only goes a few millimeters under the skin so it's not as bad as it looks. However, some patients get scared off by this. Source: I am a doctor and I have type 1 diabetes and have been using CGMs for years.

I’m fit, i always was very healthy. I don’t drink alcohol at all and workout regularly and I developed severe symptoms of iron overload with bronze skin colour and ferritin increasing from 164 to 440 in 5 months. I have just one copy of the faulty gene of hemochromatosis. My liver enzymes went up as well.

My partner was a healthy 49 year old male. Albeit with a little high cholesterol. After getting the C19 vaccine, he ended up with a blood clot in his abdomen, which cut blood supply to 1 of his toes. Which caused gangrene in his toe. He had a stent put into his abdomen, and the affected toe cut off. And lots of blood tests. First, they thought it was lupus. Now it's APS. 4 months later, he is getting another toe cut off. Due to gangrene. But Dr's can't find any new blockages. He is on clexaine, warfarin, statin & aspirin. It's not hereditary, as no one in his family has ever been diagnosed with any of the above. They will not accept that it could be from the vaccine.

Ive been on IV Benadryl w/my iv pain meds for 25yrs w/no side effects and im not addicted. Majority of patients who have this combination arent addicts and they dont have extreme side effects. Its ridiculous how MDs are withholding care that has worked for years/decades for patients.

There is no excuse for putting a patients saftey in the hands of a machine. A PCA cannot see or speak to a patient before giving them pain meds.

There is an addiction rate of less than 3% in Sickle Cell patient community. Start there. As for the management of sickle cell the patient will tell you what they need and their charts tend to back them up (most mds dont even bother to look, they just judge). For this woman to speak on SUD when discussing one in the ER is upsetting.
@rissarys2526 күн бұрын
Patients who have either trait or disease and have been misdiagnosed is due to the lack of testing or use of the cheaper test in which sickled cells are counted from a sample.

I recently suffered a fracture of the greater trochanter and the ER physician gave me a tiny amount of the lowest dose Vicodin and told me to ask my Suboxone doctor to prescribe something stronger. When I did my doctor told me I would have to come in and be seen in person even knowing that I would have to take a bus several miles on crutches to do so. Why do doctors treat patients with a history of addiction so horribly when they know that failing to treat pain adequately can result in something far greater than if they did. It almost seems like they would rather you go and buy street drugs then then treat your pain adequately

I just was in MVA and fractured my hip. I take 16mg of bup per day, the ER dr gave me 1 single 5mg norco and sent me home with a prescription of 20 of the hydrocodone 5mg tabs. The one in the hospital offered zero relief. It is a closed displaced fracture of the greater trochanter which doesnt require surgery so the dr told me to call my suboxone provider and give me different meds. Im on crutches and im in so much pain I can barely get out of bed let alone get to the pharmacy . Im nervous about what my Dr will do when i call him. He is a psych dr and based on my previous interactions with him Im thinking hes going to tell me to see an ortho and give me nothing.

What online test would you recommend to test for hereditary hemochromatosis I’m 37 years old exercise, at least four times a week with a body fat of less than 15%. Haven’t had a sip of alcohol in three years. I recently donated blood 2 weeks ago just seeing if it would help me i watched a video that said it could help lower my SHBG and increase my free testosterone. After donating i felt amazing for about a week and a half my bench press went up over 40lbs during that time. Starting feeling bad again after the 2 week mark so had my iron saturation check and ferritin check. it was 47% and ferritin 495 2 weeks after donating not sure what my next step should be.

You could do phlebotomy. Depends where you live. In Canada ferritin has to be 1000 or more to have phlebotomy prescribed as a treatment. In some US ferritin over 300 is an indication for phlebotomy. I’m not sure if this is true for everyone or just for people with hereditary hemochromatosis. I have hemochromatosis and my ferritin went up in 6 months from 164 to 440. I have severe symptoms, but my doctor thinks it’s in my head. I donated blood and my symptoms improved. But after a week they are coming back. So I just do phlebotomy to myself. Im a healthcare professional and I know how to do it
