Some of your best work, Keith. I like the composures but also the cloudy, rainy weather really adds something to it. We all need to photograph as much of these kinds of settings as possible as they will soon be gone FOREVER ! Say safe !

The two penultimate shots were my favorites. Really nice. I am always drawn to BW shots where you can see through adjacent window or door openings to the other side. To me, that just says abandoned.

Thanks I agree about the windows! I was interested in seeing that the window in back looked quite a different size depending on the focal length I used to shoot it

Lovely fog!!! That first location made me instantly think of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies! The rainy, dreary conditions made for a great setting for these images. Love it. I really need to work on my settings for a "more black and white" look to my black and white images. Thanks for taking us along!!

Hello, my dear friends. Another beautiful misty and rainy video. The mist always gives a special feeling. Beautiful buildings especially that small house with that huge vehicle next to the house, which looks like a military tank. You also show that it is important to scan your object completely and look at it from all sides before taking pictures of it. And the buildings just had to be photographed in black and white, color would not have been appropriate, in my opinion. This video also shows that it is not just a matter of making a few clicks and then selling on the internet. No, this shows how important it is to approach every photo shoot and video recording professionally to get a good result. And that is what you master very well professionally. Take good care of each other and your loved ones. Antoine.

Most folklore has truth to it. If you think it's false, why are you perpetuating the belief by mentioning it. Despite the fact that back then witchcraft was illegal, and in the 1930's and 40's they legalized it, people still want to say it doesn't exist. LOL

As usual, great video and photographs from you two. When my husband and I are traveling and we come across abandoned houses and buildings like those, I always wonder who lived there, did they have children, what were their hopes and dreams, etc... And, the closer you get to those abandoned buildings, the more likely you are to hear their story. Through the cracks of the grey weathered wood or an old piano on a broken down front porch, there is a story to be told. And, yes, once they are gone, the whispers of their stories stop. You two are definitely memorializing those places, and I, for one, am grateful for that.

Hello, my dear friends. Another very good and beautiful video. The video work is great, some shots are photos. And the creativity is beautiful to see that you are taking pictures and Teena drives past with the car. But the photos are really beautiful, mate. Really of very high quality, Fuji knows what a good photo needs. I would almost be jealous of the possibilities you have there. Beautiful abandoned houses with character and those old cars and tools are to die for. What I find a pity is that you did not take a photo of that gas station at the end, for me that would have been worth a few clicks. Thank you for this nice half hour. For me, every video of yours is a party. It inspires and motivates me to go out and take pictures, friend. Antoine.

Hello Keith, I really like your video clips in which you show prints on different types of paper. This is very informative. Could you tell me what printer you use, is it always one printer, or maybe there are several? Have you compared prints of your photos made on different printers and what are your experiences? Maybe you already talked about it in one of the video clips that I missed? Best regards Piotr

Hey Keith - loved that you came to Joplin (I live Webb City, right next door). Ironically, I had just went over to the old Freeman hospital the day before you released this to get some more pictures. As you referenced, this building may not be long for this world if the City's plan works out. I'm not sure if you saw it, but there is a cross to the south east of the hospital across the street and I have a picture of that on my Instagram with the hospital in the background. On the North side, there is a cornerstone with AD 1923 and Freeman Hospital written on it. It is covered up by a vine, and I plan on getting out there this week with my loppers to take the vine out and get a clean shot of that cornerstone before the building leaves us. I've wanted to do some amateur Urbex on this place, but I have heard it is full of needles, and structurally, it is questionable at best. In any case, thank you for sharing this video, I loved your take on how to capture this wonderful building and enjoy all of your videos. Have safe travels!
@Keithdotson
@Keithdotson 14 күн бұрын
Thanks Doug! I didn’t see that cross! I think you’re right about the building. The news article said pieces are falling off of it too. I suspect it’ll be gone soon if they can find funding for demolition.

Thanks for the video on Newbern Keith. William Christenberry also documented from time to time a Green Barn in the area. Visiting that may have been interesting. Also, in the general vicinity is the town of Sprott where Walker Evans took a famous picture of a general store that I believe Christenberry revisited. The front of the store has been blown away but the building still stands and its interesting to try to recreate the angle on the shot (figuring Evans was probably shooting it with a Rolliflex camera. Also, in Demopolis is another Christenberry building with the 5 cent sign on it that Walker Evans revisited. Finally, Tuscaloosa has the Drish Home that was in the famous Tuscaloosa Wrecking Company picture taken by Walker Evans.

This probably sounds stupid but I realised watching this video that the detail in your photos, actually brings back the buildings to history. In other words, each building looks run down or unloved until you see them as one of your photos. To me, they come alive again at the same time preserves their history. Thanks for another lovely video of your travels.

Hello dear friends. A short but certainly not bad video. Too bad that these kinds of buildings have to be demolished. I have this with many buildings in your videos. Then I think there would be someone who would appreciate the historical value of this building and make something of it where the old building is still preserved only with a different purpose. But there is only one thing that everything revolves around and that is the big money. Many thanks, Keith and Teena for this video that I watched with great pleasure again. Antoine.
