ha don't panic. It wasn't thanos4u related. My dumbass forgot about the chair behind the rig. Simple wedge...but I also had some error in the python code for braking which did glitch out and throw crazy movement commands.

Can't wait until they affix slot cars with small cameras and let you race in real-time with the view as if you were sitting in the driver's seat of the slot car. Add in a feedback rig like this, and it would almost feel like you're at the Indy 500

Yes. Tuning is still happening. It's just enough cue to let you know what the car is doing. That's the goal of the sim. Not meant to be a carnival ride.

The forward movement is interesting to simulate g force, but not practical to stay accelerated. You would have to stay on brakes and let it reset to the beginning?

Eventually, the code will wash back to neutral at an imperceptible rate. So yes. You got it. The motion seen is actually the difference of acceleration. Therefore under constant acceleration nothing happens, that's as best you're gonna get with a static system.

@@LionSandwich good luck with that then . been looking around at DD wheels so far what ive seen of them i dont like very much im currently on a G29 that needs replacing after 7 years everything on that is starting to wear out a bit its mainly the buttens that stop working the steering and pedals are fine but i think im just going to get another logitec wheel their praticly unbrakeble its plug in a play cheaper and the setup that i have isnt at all ready for a DD wheel so i would need to either build or buy a frame for me thats to much work for like just GT7 , i dont play much else on it so i figured that new g923 might do just what i need and not a single bit more

@user-lq6vm8yt4h they're some good arguments for why direct drive makes you slower also. On oval I use the bare minimum force feedback to limit unnecessary wheel movement and jittering that causes tire wear.

Your ball/socket could probably benefit from a little lubrication. Looks dry in the video. Maybe a very light coating of silicone paste. Lithium grease may work, but no guarantee its safe for ABS. YMWV.

You are welcome. I'm using the 90-ST motor on my belt tensioner and it uses transfer belt as on your previous video, to double the gearing to (1:2 ) for torque output about 5Nm... I should make a description video sometime to explain how it works better 👍

Good to know 5nm is your end torque. Just guessing from this setup it felt like 5nm would be best.

Why not just use larger servomotor with more direct torque? The gearbox is pain as it translates into position more than torque, plus you stress the belt as you mentioned...
