Is there somewhere you show exactly how you drilled the holes? That would be extremely helpful! thank you.

I love this. It would be a nice practical hands on idea for teaching elementary school students the practical application of math. I used to be an elementary teacher and we built musical instruments in class. I wish I knew this back then.

This is a great video, in my country, if you want to buy a set of fretboard radius gauges you have to buy them overseas, but this video provides an excellent solution

First things first, damn good vid! Cheers and drinking a nice pint of dark ale in your honor and munched on a spicy pickled egg to chase it down, then more beer. 2nd, your English accent is super clean, usually I struggle a bit to get all the vowels and consonants right. Good job !

Do you need to use a sanding sealer after staining and before using oil? Or is it ok just with oil after the finish

Sir, as you said that the first fret is 5 cm from the nut? Is it in applicable in all fret board?

Do you run a patreon page?

How close to an acoustic can U get a piezo modified strat. I’ve seen your other good vids but ask have you ever installed a cheep mini onboard amp and battery to one as fisherman fluence????
@johnnorris19832 жыл бұрын
Check out the Darell Braun videos on U tube and set up a patreon page where we the public gift you cash and keep you at it. You need better lighting and invest in a better camera and less casual ( purpose full) back drop. Your in-depth skills and explanation are very enjoyable. Don’t give up. No one mods a piezo better and clearer lighting and photography will get greater hits and hopefully more patreons over the years to come. Congrats with the family but don’t let the kids cook the goose that lays golden eggs. We all want different (extra) voicings with our guitar. Run with it. Thanks once again

Informative. Concise. Dodgy lighting. Great explanation and over explanation. No patrion adds???? Fantastic extra tones for any guitar on a buget. Thanx

Cheapo plastic chopping board type sheets ( red, green, blue etc ) 👍 Pin a string or strip of plastic at one end, attach modelling scalpel to other end at the radius you want and cut out as you sweep the radius.

You are English? So, inches began with the English, but they left the fair waters of the Great Island and sold out to the logic of mainland Europe. They've fallen into the very shallows of the flat lands of the metric system. Oh well.

Yes, I did this method for a 22" scale fret board for a mandola, I think it was. This was late last year or so. Kept the drawing, never made the FB. But I need one for a mandolin. If I get the first fret distance as accurate as possible, all the rest should be correct. Am I correct in assuming this ? Thanks. Bob
@Ike_AW2 жыл бұрын
My response is late, but yes, you can use the same template as long as you use the length of the first fret, it will work for ANY scale

Just discovered your channel today and subbed. Found you when investigating if it was possible to put a piezo in a Strat and your videos were very informative, if difficult to navigate as a playlist. There are plenty of videos out there already about blend mods, Gilmour mods etc... but not a lot about phase alternation and other weirdness.

A bit of super glue to hold 'nuts' in place (or some funky underwear). Superglue also works for holding the piezo inplace whist srewing together.
