amazing how poor Garmin integrated the solar panel surface into the watch face, either it looks ugly reddish colour or it's s clear disturbing visible where solar is and where the watch stops. Awful to see such poor mechanic implementations. Take a look at a cheap Casio watch for $49 and see how they make it undistinguishable between solar and watch surfaces. Poor Garmin wannabes.

Your home internet is amazingly slow. Using a 400 mbps service to test a router capable of 6000 mbps is not very useful. You could use a router several generations old and max out your 400 mbps link. Wifi 7 is overkill, as is WiFi 6E, and is WiFi 6. Wifi 5 is more than enough to get those sorts of speeds. You could test speeds by setting up a test between local machines there the router really is the limit and not your internet service. "iperf" is an easy tool to use for this. Install it on two machines and set one up as the server and the other as the client. You should be able to max out the network. Use fast machines and fast WiFi 7 cards as youre testing their speeds as well.

Nice review. One word that is conspicuously missing from Deeper Connect specs is: "Encryption." I have attempted to find out whether or not DC user data is two-way encrypted (such as is the case with standard VPNs), and I have been unable to find any information. I reached out to DC's email support, and all I got were links to their website info. I re-sent the encryption question, and got zero response the second time. I found this video to be a bit unhelpful. It does a fairly good job of providing a glossy overview, but does little to provide some crucial downsides. 1. The WiFi & Bluetooth is useless within UnRaid because it is unsupported. You can only make use of this wireless feature if you install an app or VM that supports wireless communication. So right out of the box you will not be able to use this. Possibly at some point in the future UnRaid might support WiFi. 2. People need to know more about the controversy over using SSDs with UnRaid and how the usual TRIM mechanism is not supported, so free blocks of storage at the end of a file will not be trimmed and returned to the free pool of storage onboard an SSD. UnRaid will support this at some point in the future, but it will only be useable in an array of two SSDs. So it remains to be seen how the health of an SSD will be maintained without TRIM. 3. UnRaid does not support hot-swapping. So don’t think of pulling the drives out of the two front drawers without first shutting down or at least taking the array offline. Failure to do so will remain that UnRaid will have to recalculate Parity before the array can be accessed again. 4. The lights along the front edge are not actually used by UnRaid. So other than providing a nice glow, they’re useless. It is possible, however, to access these LEDs through an HTTP port, but you would have to have an app that would maintain some sort of status updates.

Literally just got this delivered and put on my 15 Pro. Seems too slick for my liking.

Just picked one of these up for my small little apartment. Was looking at newer and better routers, but I think this is enough for me and my girlfriend and our 4 wifi devices at most. The open platform, AdGuard, wireguard, and the very simple use was what sold me. I’m getting sick of products like ASUS with their weird gamer aesthetic apps and their proprietary software. if anyone's watching this in 2024, don't buy this model even if you find it used. there's no more phone app support. basically can't sync time or anything. it was great for a few years when I first received it as a gift, however Vantrue Dropped all support for this model.

All I use is the MagEZ4 Black/grey and moonrise. With NO screen protector. As a blue-collar guy working on construction sites every day in nyc... haha. My device is immaculate. A screen protector on this screen is a real shame. It has to be used naked imo. I have 0 micro scratches, devices of years prior would be littered with them. Plus the anti reflection and the fingerprint sensor.
