That car is a perfect car for a fam. road trip & camping vacation. Lot's of room for stuff and could pull a small traylor as well. The older 6's are plenty tourky. You wouldn't get any speeding tickets for sure but a great way to see America. 👏😁

Yes, it's pretty spunky as flatheads go. This drives as straight as an arrow although those knee action shocks are a bit toasted and allowing it to bob and dive like a small ocean vessel. Sorta Fun.. Ha!

When im out riding i just park it on a hill if possible and bump start it. E start works when its cold aometimes. Its kinda embarrassing to have a new bike that just cranks and cranks so i usually just kick it.

make sure you get every grain of dirt out of there with air first. I think the convience of this isn't worth possibly getting dirt in. better to do it right

The drive wheel is indeed rubber and the arrangement is called "capstan & idler wheel". The capstan was the post attached to the motor and had four different diameter gradings, the thinnest for 16 & two-thirds RPM, the next one for 33 & one-third, then came the gradation for 45rpm, then the widest fort 78rpm. The idler wheel(the rubber wheel) would engage with the capstan and inside rim of the 7-inch rubber, or felt-matted platter which supports the record. It's unusual to see *Firestone* associated with record players as that brand is normally associated with the manufacture of *tyres* (note the correct spelling there, "tyres") for bicycles, motorcycles, cars, lorries, buses, etc.

Dr. Gerald Barcroft Smith, "Doc Smith", is my great grandpa. It was said that he delivered more than 3,000 babies, operated the Woodburn Hospital until its closure in the mid-1960's. He retired in the 1970's. He served as health officer for the city of Woodburn and for Maclaren School, a state facility for young male offenders, holding both posts for more than 25 years. He was prominent in professional medical circles as well as in civic affairs. He was an honorary member of the Oregon and American medical associations and a past president of the Marion-Polk-Yamhill County Medical Society. He served two terms as president of the Woodburn Chamber of Commerce and was a past president and charter member of the Woodburn Rotary Club. He was a past commander of American Legion Post 46. He was a ruling elder of the Presbyterian Church and a member of the AL Kadar Shrine Club in Portland and the Masonic Lodge in Clinton, New Jersey where he was born. He collected stamps and helped judge national and international stamp shows. He served as a medical officer during World War 1. Woodburn Civic Stadium at Legion Park was renamed Doc Smith Memorial Stadium in recognition of Dr. Gerald B. Smith's support of local athletics. Like his involvement with the stadium project, Smith was always interested in local sports. His contribution was tremendous and he treated many athletic injuries for no charge. Smith was a resident of Woodburn for more than 50 years and owner of Woodburn Hospital until it closed in the mid-1960's, he died December 24, 1984

They did their job back in the day, but the HP ratings weren't quite what they are today. Most guys running a high HP mill, will usually go to a 9" Ford, which is a much stronger unit.

Yes. When you crack the throttle you are spraying gas into the intake track, even when the bike is off. That is helping you with your starts. Thats odd though because I can let both my 450f and 426f sick for weeks and they will start 1-3 kicks without doing that. Maybe you need a bigger starter jet

@@yami4g63 Those FCR carbs and meant to perform like fuel injection when dialed properly. There should be zero bogs no matter how fast you twist the throttle. Thats how my 450 and 426 are and its the main reason why I still have them and haven’t upgraded to fuel injection. No need and + I prefer kicking it over.

@@frankiemarchese2978 My 426 is very responsive as well. Took a Bit to get the accelerator pump Set. Also did the O-Ring mod.

@@yami4g63 Same 💪🏼 The only thing I dont like about the 426 carb vs my 05 450 carb is that it doesn’t have an adjustable leak jet. When I adjusted the leak jet on my 450 it made a huge difference. The only way to get one on the 426 is with the R&D power bowl which is $200. I may get it one day, but honestly its good enough without it.
