A great programme. Candida Lycett Green was very self-effacing considering what a beauty she was.

Simply wonderful! Thanks. I remember being entranced by this programme when it was first broadcast and it has lost nothing through time. Rather the opposite. It's not really about gardens, of course - it's in fact an affectionate celebration of English characters, often inclining to the eccentric. So sad to reflect that most of the people involved will no longer be with us.
